The PR Net 100, 2022: BPCM

BPCM has long acted on its dedication to sustainability and corporate responsibility, and this year, the agency forged forward on its path. BPCM officially launched a Corporate Purpose practice in 2022, which provides strategic consulting and communications services for purpose-driven companies and organizations. This industry-agnostic practice is inclusive of ESG, delving deep into a brand or organization’s core to help unearth and amplify its true purpose. This practice also endeavors to transform BPCM into a net-positive company. Earlier-established initiatives have been fruitful, too: Since the BPCM Sustainability & Impact practice launched three years ago, it has grown to be nearly 15 percent of the agency through its leadership in communications and consulting expertise for material science, green chemistry, recycling and circular economy-focused companies and organizations. Outside of these areas, the BPCM team supports global names in fashion, beauty, hospitality and spirits. Hermès has long had a spot on their roster, and recent wins include the likes of FARM Rio, Virgin Hotels, the Fasano brand and Lalo Tequila, to name a few.

The PR Net 100, 2022: Becca

Becca Parrish’s agency has long been a leader in the F&B space, and her team is a go-to resource for anyone seeking out the newest hotspots in cities all over the US. With offices in NYC and LA supporting a lengthy client roster, the Becca team has branched out to start supporting more tech and design-focused clients such as Roman and Williams Guild, Bespoke Only and ChowNow. A couple of hires have been key for successfully integrating these new practice areas: Jenny Macksamie, former Managing Editor of The New York Times T Magazine, joined Becca as Director of Special Projects, expanding the team's expertise in production, events, partnerships and design. Ben Rosenthal, who most recently led social media at Eleven Madison Park and Eleven Madison Home, joined as Senior Digital Marketing Manager to support across influencer relations, community management and emerging platforms. Within the last year, Becca has led PR campaigns for a diverse range of client events and initiatives, from the COTE-founded Taste of Asia benefit that raised over $1M for City Harvest and Apex for Youth, to an AAPI Heritage Month panel event with the Asian-American Design Alliance on the intersection of identity politics and design. They’ve also taken on up-and-coming brands on a pro-bono basis, including Crowns & Hops, a Black-owned beer brand out of Inglewood, California.

How are you innovating and moving the industry forward?

“For us, our work has always been about anticipating trends before they happened, and putting our clients, whether they are personalities, destinations or brands, at the forefront of the cultural conversation. We understand that the world is and has always been more than media relations; it involves marketing, events, social media, and increasingly within the hospitality industry, an understanding of how that aligns with and supports the growth of a client’s business. Through regular ‘lunch & learn’ sessions on everything from social media tools to affiliate marketing, expanding our team to include a diverse group of specialists, and becoming more attuned to financial metrics and hard data, we are extensions of our clients’ in-house teams, redefining the meaning of PR.”
