The PR Net 100: OGAKI

OGAKI

Renee Ogaki launched her agency with over a decade of experience in media relations, influencer marketing and social media strategy. OGAKI is a unique digital PR agency in that it is fully focused on the online space, catering to digital-first brands and personalities (a space Ogaki herself mastered before Instagram was even launched). As such, the agency has seen success in major brand launches including work with DTC jewelry brand Rellery and Whitney Port’s COZeCO. OGAKI recently expanded its beauty division, growing the team and client roster, and also expanded its international reach to serve clients in Asia, Europe and Canada.

Is there a big industry trend you’re backing in terms of your agency offering, and why do you think this area will continue to grow and influence the PR practice?

We are a digital-first PR agency, offering digital PR, influencer relations and social media strategy. In PR, we focus much of our proactive efforts on landing digital placements, where we can easily track results and garner insights into how a placement is performing, continuously optimizing our strategy based on what is working for our clients. We are able to access analytics like website traffic, sales conversions, Instagram follower growth, social media engagement and re-shares of a piece, EMV, and more to maximize the ROI of our PR efforts for our clients.

We also very much believe in the future of influencer-led brands and have brought on quite a few within our agency roster including Whitney Port’s COZeCO, Teni Panosian’s Monday Born, Tina Craig’s U Beauty and Jillian Dempsey’s eponymous beauty line. Beaubble is also a client, which is a beauty platform that partners with influencers to build community-driven brands. Influencers have already spent years building loyal audiences who trust their recommendations and look to them for advice, and influencer-led brands are a proven success in the market. However, these influencers need partners they trust to help them build from the ground up and navigate the PR and communications space. At OGAKI, we not only have a specialized, dedicated influencer team that works with brands to build their influencer engagement strategies, but we take it a step further and work directly with these influencers to build their own brands.
