We are actively seeking an experienced Public Relations Intern to join our team, working remotely.  

The Shamin Abas Intern is responsible for assisting team members in executing creative marketing communications programs for clients, as well as providing back-up administrative support. Interns are encouraged to be a contributing member of the firm; we value and support the desire to learn and to get involved, but it will be the Intern’s task to take initiative. We want to introduce them to the demanding, exciting, and rewarding world of public relations and provide them with the skills necessary to enter the workforce.

Tasks include, but are not limited to: reading newspaper/online articles daily; drafting press materials, including press releases, pitches, and social media content; compiling/qualifying media lists; performing research and presenting findings; collecting/clipping publicity; other tasks as assigned by team members.  This is a valuable opportunity to work side by side with a team of professionals and clients across the ultra-luxury realm including the automotive, yachting, aviation, design, and lifestyle industries.

Requirements:

- Education/Experience – Either a Bachelor’s degree in public relations, English, marketing or communications; or candidate is in final 1-2 years of undergraduate studies in these fields.

- Candidate must have a work portfolio (i.e. writing samples, school marketing campaigns, etc.)  Computer skills – Comfortable with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop (or similar likeness).  

- Social media - Emerging and current social media technologies and study of their application in contemporary PR practice - for instance Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn, and how they pertain to business.

- Marketing skills – Creative writing and general knowledge of basic communications tools used to support marketing communications and branding campaigns (i.e. media relations, advertising, collateral, events, grassroots efforts, etc.)
