The PR Net 100, 2022: Evins

Evins has been an industry leader for decades, but what sets the agency apart today isn’t just storied heritage – it’s the leadership's commitment to thinking outside the traditional PR box. Most recently, the team introduced the new Evins PR+ model, which encapsulates and explains all that the team does for their clients, highlighting services outside the usual media relations checklist like advocacy marketing, conversation monitoring, business counsel and crisis communications. Of course, properly showing clients the business impact of “new” PR relies on metrics, and the team is focusing on a new set of analytics to showcase success beyond impressions and AVEs to show engagement, conversation, action and sales – all through the effectiveness of a well-executed PR strategy.

We all know that the recent landscape has been fraught with challenges and set-backs, but we have used this time to also seek out the opportunities to better communicate, differentiate and define our clients’ brands and businesses to their target audiences.”

How is the agency advancing DEI in the industry?

“DEI is incredibly important to us, and our team reflects this; we recruit individuals who can bring different backgrounds, experiences and talents to the group, and to our work for clients. We work with clients to whom this is equally important and we regularly plan campaigns and long-term initiatives to promote and celebrate DEI. In the past year, we began working with The Community Spirit Vodka, a brand that was founded with equality and equity for all as a founding principle. This brand is all about putting our time, tools and talents to work for changemakers – organizations and individuals leading social change for the community. We are regularly forging new relationships with similar organizations at the national and local levels to build new programs and support their work in the DEI space. The LGBTQ community is another important space for the agency. Co-founder and co-CEO James Curich is an Organizing Member of the Superbia Credit Union, a profit-for-purpose financial institution designed to benefit the LGBTQ community and build equity and equality through financial resources that help level the playing field. Co-founder and co-CEO John Weiss is an active volunteer with School on Wheels, a nonprofit organization dedicated to tutoring homeless children in California to help provide opportunity for the next generation.”
