RG2 Named Agency of Record for The Lake; A Residential Development and Private Members Club

RG2 Communications, the international public relations agency specialising in travel, hospitality, design and culture, founded by Ross Belfer and Grace Hitchen-Hilsley, is delighted to announce its appointment as the international Agency of Record for The Lake, an ambitious new residential and lifestyle development in the largest recreational zone of Tbilisi, overlooking Lisi Lake. Developed by Georgian real estate company Placemakers, the project brings together contemporary architecture, landscape-led living and world-class hospitality, anchored by Lake House, a new private members’ club designed by internationally acclaimed architecture practice Snøhetta.

Situated on a 14-hectare hillside overlooking Lisi Lake, The Lake is conceived as a new model of residential living in Georgia, combining the privacy and tranquillity of a nature-led retreat with the convenience and cultural energy of the capital. The development will comprise 49 individually designed villas, 21 private houses and 20 residential land plots, surrounded by expansive landscaped grounds, private parkland and uninterrupted views across the lake.

At the heart of the development is a distinctive architectural vision manifested by a collective of leading Georgian architects, including Architects of Invention, IA:AB, NOA Studio, Khmaladze Architects and MUA – Architecture & Placemaking. Each residence has been conceived to integrate seamlessly into the natural terrain, employing restrained forms, natural materials, and considered landscaping to establish a harmonious relationship between architecture and its surroundings.

Central to the project’s lifestyle offering is Lake House, a 3,700-square-metre private members’ club designed by Norwegian architecture practice Snøhetta, marking the studio’s first project in Georgia. Conceived as the social and cultural heart of the neighbourhood, Lake House will bring together hospitality, wellness, gastronomy, culture and community within a striking contemporary architectural setting. The concept and operation are being developed by Salt Projects, the Georgian hospitality group behind the internationally recognised Rooms Hotels and Stamba.

Scheduled to open in May 2029, Lake House will feature a farm-to-table restaurant, bars and lounges, a spa and wellness facilities, co-working spaces and a programme of cultural events and exhibitions. Lake House is designed for the residents of the lake, a select group of members and the wider Tbilisi community, establishing Lake House as a new destination within the city's evolving social and cultural landscape.

The appointment comes at a significant moment for The Lake as the development enters its next phase of construction and international positioning. With an investment of up to USD 50 million in its first stage, the project represents an ambitious contribution to Georgia’s emerging luxury residential market, reflecting growing international interest in Tbilisi as a destination for architecture, hospitality, culture and investment. Infrastructure works are scheduled for completion by December 2026, with the first residents expected to move in from 2028.

Commenting on the appointment, Grace Hitchen-Hilsley, Co-Founder and Principal of RG2, said: “Having worked closely with some of the visionaries shaping Georgia’s hospitality and real estate landscape over the years, we have cultivated a deep understanding of the market, its evolving landscape and the growing international appetite for the country’s distinctive approach to hospitality, design and contemporary living. The Lake represents an exciting new chapter, bringing together exceptional architecture, thoughtful placemaking and a progressive vision for contemporary living. More than a residential development, it is an ambitious concept that places culture, community and hospitality at the heart of the experience, and we are delighted to partner with Placemakers in launching their vision and contributing to the growing global recognition of Georgia as a destination for design, hospitality and culture.”

RG2 will lead The Lake’s international communications strategy, spearheading media relations, project storytelling, thought leadership and international brand positioning. The agency’s remit will encompass the residential development and the forthcoming Lake House members’ club, with a focus on securing meaningful exposure across global architecture, design, travel, hospitality, lifestyle and luxury media. The communications programme will introduce The Lake to new international audiences while positioning the development within wider conversations surrounding contemporary residential architecture, placemaking, private members’ clubs and the evolution of luxury living.
