Dante Elizabeth Street Opening in Nolita This Fall

This fall, husband-and-wife duo Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson open Dante Elizabeth Street at 210 Elizabeth St., a location that marks a deeply personal full circle for the Australian couple. The restaurant brings together a wood-fired grill and oven presided over by Executive Chef Daniel Garwood with a world-class aperitivo bar.

Dante Elizabeth Street is the culmination of a decade of Dante’s evolution as a beloved dining and drinks destination. It unites all of the elements of Dante under one roof: Caffe Dante’s legendary aperitivo bar, its 100-year history and spirit; Dante West Village’s wood-fired grill; Dante Beverly Hills’ wood-fired oven; and Dante Mayfair’s effortless elegance.

The new restaurant feels distinctly New York, while carrying that unmistakable Italian spirit that has always been at the heart of Dante and represents where the brand has been, where it is today, and a vision of its future. The restaurant is the home of the “New York Aperitivo,” a place built around the ritual of gathering, unwinding, and enjoying the moment.

Back to the Exact Spot Where It All Began

Years ago, while navigating a long-distance relationship between Sydney and New York, Pride and Hudson sat inside this very space at 210 Elizabeth St. and made the life-changing choice to embark on their New York adventure together.

“Returning here feels like the universe bringing us back to where our story started,” says Pride. “There’s a quiet beauty in leaving to create something you truly believe in, only to stand in the exact same spot years later to start a new chapter.”

“Sometimes the most magical things happen when you aren't looking for them,” says Hudson. “We weren't looking to open another restaurant in New York when the opportunity on Elizabeth St. appeared. When this space came back into our lives, there was something almost poetic about it.

After taking the leap in 2015, the couple relaunched the historic Caffe Dante and grew it into a world-renowned hospitality brand across New York, Los Angeles, and London. Opening Dante Elizabeth Street marks a deeply personal homecoming to the place that first inspired their journey.

Ingredient-Led Cuisine from a Master of Wood-Fired Cooking

Dante Elizabeth Street will serve ingredient-led, wood-fired cuisine from Executive Chef Daniel Garwood, with a menu balancing local purveyors and global ingredients. Highlights include Hokkaido Scallops, Carabineros Prawns, Spaghetti all’Assassina, Claypot Maine Lobster Frites, Spanish Turbot, and Tasmanian Cape Grim New York Strip, alongside returning Dante favorites such as the “Champagne & Pearls” Tart, Kale Salad, Crystal Blue Shrimp Cocktail, and Grilled Corn.

A Shrine to the Spritz and More

Dante Elizabeth Street’s cocktail program centers on aperitivo-style drinks, Martinis, Negronis, and reimagined classics, with the Spritz taking center stage. The menu features seasonal variations alongside signature cocktails, including the Elizabeth Street Martini, Our Signature Negroni, Garibaldi, and Lemon Sgroppino. A daily “Spritz to Remember” will be offered from 3 to 5 PM.

Interior Design That Is Both Playful and Theatrical

Dante Elizabeth Street pairs a dramatic 17-foot-high interior with a warm, layered aesthetic. Designed by Nathalie Hudson with AvroKO’s Adam Farmerie, the 205-seat space moves from a horseshoe-shaped bar and floral feature wall into a green-and-beige dining room anchored by an open wood-fired kitchen. Original artwork, oversized photography, a discreet DJ booth, and alabaster lighting add to the restaurant’s collected, residential feel.

An Evolving Playlist by Pride Keeps the Energy Grooving

The playlist at Dante Elizabeth Street, curated by Pride, spans Soul, Gospel, Blues and early Rock ‘n Roll, including Taj Mahal, The Rolling Stones and Etta James. Later evenings’ selections showcase more upbeat rhythms, including Funk and Disco, with artists such as Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Diana Ross and others.

A Unique Neighborhood and a Special Street

Pride and Hudson have always loved Nolita, especially Elizabeth St., with its slightly hidden, European feel and Old-World charm. The couple already has Caffe Paradiso, a popular coffee shop, a few doors down. Directly opposite the restaurant is the Elizabeth Street Garden, a one-acre community sculpture garden that was recently secured as a permanent part of the neighborhood after years of facing the possibility of eviction. Two blocks away is SoHo, with the Lower East Side and East Village just beyond, a true crossroads in the city they call home.
