Talk Shop Media, an integrated communications agency specializing in public relations, corporate communications, and social media, announces the promotion of Stuart Martin to Managing Director of its US West Coast operations, a move that reflects accelerating growth in the US and its growing relevance for brands that operate across both markets.
Under Stuart's leadership, Talk Shop Media's US business has grown revenue by 42%, with category-leading brands in tech, health tech, financial and professional services. These brands are expanding into the US, growing into Canada, or building a North American presence simultaneously. For an agency that planted its first US flag just a few years ago, it's a trajectory that's becoming harder to ignore.
Talk Shop Media operates with integrated teams across Canada and the United States, giving clients something most agencies can’t offer – fluency in both markets, not just familiarity. Stuart has been central to building that capability, working closely with clients navigating the distinct rhythms of each market, from the pace and scale of the US communications landscape to the cultural specificity that makes Canadian storytelling its own discipline.
“The US market moves fast, and it rewards agencies that can keep up strategically, creatively and with the right relationships,” said Stuart. “What we are building at Talk Shop isn’t a US shop with a Canadian address. We uniquely understand what it takes to win on either side of the border, and that’s a real differentiator for clients who want to grow across North America without starting from scratch in each market.”
Stuart first joined Talk Shop Media seven years ago, where he helped service and build out the agency’s work across tech, non-profit and arts and culture accounts in Canada. His success there caught the attention of leadership, who decided to send him to Los Angeles to establish the agency’s first US office.
"Stuart has been instrumental in shaping what Talk Shop Media looks like in the United States," said Katie Dunsworth-Reiach, Chief Revenue Officer, Partner and Co-founder of Talk Shop. "He's built real relationships, won meaningful clients, and perhaps most importantly, figured out how to deliver integrated work across two markets that are more different than people assume. This promotion reflects what he's already accomplished and where we're going next."
As Managing Director, Stuart will continue to lead US client strategy, business development, and team growth, with a focus on expanding Talk Shop Media's presence across key sectors and deepening its cross-border capabilities for clients looking to grow on both sides of the border.
