Limo Bar opens in the East Village. Limo Bar is designed as an ode to New York celebration culture, inspired by the stretch limousine itself—polished, playful, nostalgic, and a little indulgent. The space, designed alongside James Beard Award-winning designer Julie Roberts, channels the spirit of an '80s limo with wraparound banquettes, warm wood paneling, and cinematic details throughout. The bar was founded by industry vet Reed Adelson (Virginia’s), with Jack Berry (Ray’s, Lambert’s Beer, and more) serving as Creative and Brand Partner, leading all design and concept, and Beverage Partners Ian Alexander and Mario Firmani, Very Bene Hospitality (both former leads at The Dead Rabbit), handling drinks.
The beverage program centers around elevated takes on familiar classics, with martinis serving as the star attraction. Most notably, Limo Bar will introduce the Clean Dirty Martini to New York for the first time. Originally created in Paris by legendary bartender Colin Field, the cocktail features a frozen olive juice orb suspended in the martini that slowly melts over time, transforming the drink from dry and crisp to increasingly savory with every sip. Other favorites include the Teteroro Spritz, featuring a strawberry vermouth, and a Moon Roof Negroni, with chocolate and banana.
The food program, led by Chef Alex Baker (Rebelle, Yves), is inspired by the kinds of dishes the team always craves in great hotel rooms and timeless bar rooms, and draws influence from iconic room service programs, standout club sandwiches across Europe, and the bar snacks at institutions like Bar Hemingway. Think: shrimp cocktail, mozzarella sticks, club sandwiches, bar steak frites, and classic desserts. The philosophy is simple: do the classics exceptionally well.
