CULTURED Magazine released its Summer 2026 “Indulgence” issue, which explores unexpected pleasures found in art, literature, food, culture, and music. The issue features cover star Amy Adams in conversation with Amanda Seyfried, as well as a personal essay by painter Danielle Mckinney memorialized with a limited-edition cover. The issue is currently available on newsstands, with a third cover to be released later this June.
The publication also released the first covers for its Hamptons issues, featuring actors Sarah Pidgeon and Morgan Spector, who star in the June/July and July/August editions, respectively. A second July/August Hamptons cover will be unveiled later this Summer.
“In a moment when most news is bad news, CULTURED’s Indulgence issue may come as a surprise,” says CULTURED Founder and Editor-in-Chief Sarah Harrelson in the issue’s editor's letter. “But the idea of dedicating this edition of the magazine to unexpected pleasures – whether through art, the pages of a romance novel, or an off-menu dish – felt, to us, like a much-needed form of escape.”
SUMMER INDULGENCE ISSUE
In the Summer issue, critically acclaimed actress Amy Adams speaks with fellow actress Amanda Seyfried about her passions, embracing aging onscreen in an industry that often favors youth, and her gravitation towards accepting roles that portray complex, authentic characters. In a personal essay, painter Danielle Mckinney reflects on the meaning behind her evocative painting Recess, which graces the cover of the issue as a limited edition. She explores the temporary pause suggested by the word “recess” and the inevitable “return to responsibility” that follows.
The issue also examines the theme of the “Seven Deadly Sins” through a contemporary lens in an era where modern society’s cultural norms include lengthy doomscrolling, overconsumption, and escapism in a world that often demands constant connectivity. Essays from actor and director Griffin Dunne, media personality and actress Mia Khalifa, writer and musician Brontez Purnell, Helen Molesworth, contemporary art curator Christine Sun Kim, fashion designer Dries Van Noten, and psychoanalyst Jamieson Webster offer reflections on how these themes continue to shape modern life.
Elsewhere in the issue, CULTURED gives an inside look at queer nightlife, the personal balance sheets of New York artists, and the meticulously created couture creations of Schiaparelli by Daniel Roseberry. CULTURED editor Karly Quadros speaks with Iris Van Herpen about her mid-career retrospective at the Brooklyn Museum. Georg Baselitz, in his final interview, examines identity art, being a lifelong outsider, and the new artworks created for his Venice show. The issue also unveils the 2026 Young Collectors who share a true commitment to going above and beyond to advocate for artists and a chance to live with the art they love.
HAMPTONS ISSUES
In the June/July Hamptons issue, actress Sarah Pidgeon speaks with director and playwright Celine Song about the importance of communication and vulnerability between actors and directors, ephemeral performances, and what projects are next on the horizon as she explores characters that excite her the most. The issue offers a behind-the-scenes tour of Navajo artist Emmi Whitehouse along with an intimate tour of notoriously private art collectors Glenn and Amanda Fuhrman. Also featured is a sneak peek at some of Sagaponack’s newly revived iconic landmarks including Old Stove Pub, Sag Harbor Cinema, and the Hedges Inn.
CULTURED also unveiled the first cover for its July/August Hamptons issue, starring actor Morgan Spector. The Hamptons issues are distributed around key locations on the East End, including at CULTURED and KHAITE co-branded newsstands at the Watermill Center, Il Buco Vita, and Tripoli Gallery.
