RG2 Communications, the international public relations and creative agency based in New York City and London, founded by Ross Belfer and Grace Hitchen-Hilsley, today announces its appointment as agency of record for Jacobsen Studio, the internationally acclaimed architecture studio recognized for its refined, site-specific approach to contemporary design.
Founded in Rio de Janeiro by Paulo Jacobsen, Jacobsen Studio has developed a distinctive architectural language rooted in simplicity, material integrity, and a profound dialogue with the natural environment. Today, the practice is led by partners Paulo Jacobsen, Bernardo Jacobsen, and Edgar Murata, whose international experience across Europe and Japan has expanded the studio’s global perspective and positioned it as a leading voice in contemporary architecture.
With offices in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Lisbon, the studio operates on an international scale, with projects spanning the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Its diverse portfolio encompasses private residences, hospitality destinations, cultural institutions, and large-scale developments, each defined by a rigorous authorship-led approach in which every project is conceived and directed by the firm’s partners.
With a body of work that includes some of Brazil’s most celebrated private homes and coastal retreats, Jacobsen is widely recognized for creating architecture that feels both timeless and deeply attuned to its surroundings. Notable projects include the award-winning AEA House in Angra dos Reis, embedded within the Atlantic Forest, as well as the ART Residence in Paraty and the AMS and EA Houses, each exemplifying the studio’s mastery of natural materials, sensitivity to topography, and seamless integration between indoor and outdoor living.
Beyond residential work, the studio has also played a significant role in shaping Brazil’s cultural landscape. The Rio de Janeiro Museum of Art stands as a landmark public project, recognized as one of the 100 most important architectural works of its year by Architecture Now. The museum received the Architizer A+ Award (Public Choice, Museum category, 2014), achieved LEED Silver certification from the Green Building Council, and was selected for the Buenos Aires Architecture Biennial. Jacobsen’s work has been widely recognized internationally, with honors including the iF Design Award, AD 100 Hall of Fame, and ArchDaily’s Building of the Year, reinforcing its position as one of Latin America’s most influential architecture studios.
The studio’s philosophy is exemplified in its latest international project, Amancaya in the Exumas, Bahamas, Aman’s forthcoming private island destination. Designed as a secluded sanctuary immersed in untouched nature, the project reflects Jacobsen’s ability to translate its Brazilian sensibility to new geographies, creating spaces that respond intuitively to both land and sea.
Through this partnership, RG2 Communications will lead Jacobsen’s global communications strategy, with a focus on strengthening its presence across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and key international markets. The agency will develop a comprehensive program spanning media relations, brand positioning, and strategic storytelling, highlighting the studio’s distinctive approach and expanding its visibility within the architecture, design, and luxury sectors.
“Jacobsen represents a rare clarity of vision in architecture today, one that is deeply connected to nature, materiality, and the emotional experience of space,” says Ross Belfer, Co-Founder of RG2 Communications. “Their work transcends geography, offering a universal language of design that resonates across cultures. We are excited to support the studio as it continues to expand its international footprint.”
As global demand for design-led, environmentally responsive architecture continues to grow, Jacobsen is uniquely positioned at the intersection of contemporary design and landscape-driven thinking. With a growing portfolio of international projects, the studio continues to define a new standard for architecture that is both restrained and deeply expressive.
