Symbol, the New York–based furniture design brand redefining luxury listening culture, threw open the doors to its first-ever showroom with an opening event reminiscent of a ’70s house party and jazz listening room. Nestled on the Bowery in the Lower East Side, Symbol welcomed a curated mix of press, creatives, and designers for an evening of vinyl-spinning, cocktail-sipping, sofa-sinking bliss.
Notable attendees included a curated mix of press, creatives, tastemakers across music, fashion, art, film, and design, including Nick Lowry, Dan Rosen, Dede Lovelace, Joel Moore-Hagan, Swami Sound, Eric Petschek, along with representatives from Public Records, Fool’s Gold Records, STRADA, Rockwell Group, Gensler, Studio Mellone, Civilian Projects, and more.
DJ Rob Davis set the mood with jazz-centric sets as guests browsed the space, flipped through Symbol’s iconic vinyl collection, and experienced firsthand where great sound meets great design. Drinks flowed courtesy of Aryloom, Dad Grass, Night Owl, Casalu, Something & Nothing, and Boxed Water, with bites from Zabar’s.
The loft itself showcases layered, lived-in design at its finest—infusing classic New York elements and nods to the music industry with coveted pieces from USM Modular Furniture, Kvadrat, McIntosh, East Fork, and Bankston Architectural, all illuminated by statement lighting from Lightology by In Common With, Louis Poulsen, and FLOS.
