Known for weaving history and place into every project, TBA takes a highly collaborative and deeply personalized approach to residential design.

Guided by Founding Principal Tim Barber and firm Principals David Stone and Kelly Becker, the practice continues to expand its leadership with newly named Principals Ari Engelman and Katie Peterson-Hesketh. Together, they advance the firm’s mission of designing sustainable homes that honor the past while shaping the future.

Currently, the team is leading eight fire-rebuild projects in the Pacific Palisades and Altadena, furthering its expertise in resilient design at a pivotal time for California communities. The portfolio also spans a wide range of typologies and inspirations, with many breaking ground in 2026:
