Apartment Therapy Media has announced the redesign and relaunch of Dorm Therapy, its brand for and by college students experiencing life on campus.
Dorm Therapy was launched in 2023 to help students feel at home at school. The media brand’s content lives on the multiple platforms its target readers visit daily including DormTherapy.com, ApartmentTherapy.com, and TheKitchn.com and social media channels Instagram, Pinterest and Tik Tok, receiving nearly five million monthly views.
DormTherapy.com has been reimagined as the ultimate destination for students interested in dorm and college living, guiding readers with curated packages on targeted topics. The content will be expanding into new areas such as cooking, beauty, finance and wellness, all through the unique lens of “feeling at home at school.” New bundled content will include “Start Here” Guides that feature first-person articles from fellow students, expert interviews, dorm/apartment-friendly recipes and hosting tips, videos, infographics, playlists, product modules, shopping guides and downloadable docs. These guides will cover a wide range of topics including:
New social content will include the popular Dorm Tours that step inside real college students' dorms to showcase unique design approaches as well as DIY tutorials on everything from revamping cinder block walls to doubling storage space. There will also be additional shopping content outside of the decor space to touch upon every aspect of the 360º college lifestyle, from must-have seasonal groceries to beauty product organization and self-care tools.
“Your dorm is often the first space where you’re fully in charge of decorating, organizing, and living in the way you love. College is a major life moment, and Apartment Therapy Media has always been dedicated to ‘start here’ moments — meeting you exactly where you are to help you create your happiest, healthiest home. Through Dorm Therapy’s expansion into even more college experiences, from cooking in a tiny dorm kitchen to figuring out how to manage a budget, we’ll embrace this moment for our audience with new, fun, and truly useful resources built for real life in college.” said Alison Goldman, editorial director of Dorm Therapy.
Riva Syrop, president of Apartment Therapy Media also commented on the relaunch, “Apartment Therapy is the #1 resource for renters and homeowners to make their spaces happy and healthy. This authority in the home category perfectly positioned us to develop a destination for young adults who are moving into their own spaces for the first time. Dorm Therapy has enabled us to develop a genuine connection and trust with a younger audience and, with that audience now reaching over 4 million monthly, leverage that connection for brand partners at scale as they look to build awareness and brand loyalty with this key demographic.”
