Surface Magazine has appointed David Graver as its new Editor in Chief. Graver—who previously served as Editor in Chief of CoolHunting, Executive Editor at Avenue Magazine, and contributed to major publications including Bloomberg Pursuits, Vogue, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, and Elle Magazine—brings extensive editorial experience to the role, and to its ingrained partnership with sister company, Dorsia.
Known for his distinct voice in luxury and design, Graver's expertise spans haute horology, fine wine and spirits, exclusive hotel openings, as well as contemporary art and design. His firsthand coverage has taken him from Milan Design week to Scottish Highland distilleries, and from Michelin-starred restaurants to supercar drives along the Continental Divide. His appointment affirms an exciting new chapter for Surface, which has been a leading voice in global design coverage for years.
Graver says: "For years I've started my weekdays by reading Design Dispatch, Surface's informative, inspiring newsletter. I'm honored to join the team that produces it, and I'm even more excited to develop our innovative print publication. At our corporate office in NYC, I've also cherished the opportunity to work closely with our sister brand, Dorsia, and weave the two even closer together."
Graver is based in Brooklyn and works from Surface's New York office.
