Battersea’s The Farmer’s Mistress Announces New Re-Launch this October

Beloved dining spot in the heart of Battersea, The Farmer’s Mistress, is relaunching under new management this October. Open since 2019, The Farmer’s Mistress has gained strong accolades as a restaurant with a strong farm-to-table ethos, relying on ethically sourced British produce to hero the plate, and playfully ignite the senses. The Farmer’s Mistress is excited to further establish itself as SW London’s go-to spot for naturally indulgent plates by releasing its brand new seasonal menus as well as a calendar of Supper Clubs, evening events and an upcoming evening offering. They continue their vision of offering healthy yet luxurious dishes and drinks for those who wish to indulge without the guilt, not only through brunch, but now during the eve and special events.

The Farmer’s Mistress was co-founded by Chris Gay and Joanna Gascoigne. Joanna is now stepping away from day-to-day operations to focus on upcoming projects, and the restaurant's new direction focusing on events, private dining and evening offerings is spearheaded by Chris as Executive Chef. Chris began his career working in his father’s fish and chip shop in Cornwall where he discovered his passion for food, and since has worked across Michelin star restaurants and bistros alike, as well as developing his own event catering, and Private Chef services. Most recently he was Head of Production at Duck & Waffle and Sushi Samba, before expanding his passion for high quality ingredients and ethical menu production in developing The Farmer’s Mistress. Chris says “The success of The Farmer's Mistress in Battersea has been so exciting to be a part of. Our mission has always been to create a place where people can enjoy fresh, locally sourced food that feels indulgent yet wholesome. Our community of brunch lovers has only strengthened our commitment to maintaining the quality and creativity that our guests have come to love, and we look forward to bringing fun, infectious energy back into brunch with our reopening.”

New menus for autumn have been curated specifically by Chris with three objectives in mind; to make menu items that are deliciously decadent, to celebrate British produce which is at its best in autumn, and to significantly reduce carbon footprint. By partnering with small local businesses, including Redemption Roasters, St Ewe’s and Field to Fork, The Farmer’s Mistress ensures that produce and products reach their kitchen in the least miles possible. The drinks menu at The Farmer’s Mistress is a curation of innovative British wines and spirits, to create deliciously cheeky cocktails, and support incredible local winemakers. Menus for Christmas have already been released, offering an extravagant Christmas brunch package perfect for families, parties and teams.

The re-launch of the Battersea restaurant also welcomes great deals for the whole family. Children now eat for free each day before 10am when they order from the new kids menu. And for the ultimate brunch fans, The Farmer’s Mistress has announced brand new Brunch Board Sharers, for four to six people after 2pm. The epic boards are available for pre-order online, and come in a regular, or veggie option starting from £20pp. Included are cult favourites such as the delicious Cornbread Smash, Chicken or Oyster Mushroom Waffle, and Toasted Banana Bread - served of course with a smorgasbord of sides including Halloumi Fries and Tater Tots.

The Farmer’s Mistress will re-launch this October with a brand new seasonal brunch and lunch menu. Brunch and lunch is served at The Farmer’s Mistress 7 days a week, on weekdays from 9am-4pm, and weekends from 9am-5pm. View all menus online HERE. Bookings can be made on the website.
