Since its inception, Sling & Stone has been focused on supporting clients they consider to be challengers, disruptors and tastemakers – the people who are creating the future of how we live, work and play. Their client vetting process ensures they keep their roster on this level, and also empowers employees to be genuinely excited to share their clients’ stories. This year, the integrated marketing and communications agency formalized departments for practice areas including a startup PR division and a social and content marketing division. The team is focused on four areas for new business – retail, auto/mobility, travel/hospitality and lifestyle – and is currently working on a new measurement and methodology system to offer clients even more well-informed insights into PR efforts and results. On the internal front, Sling & Stone expanded their footprint with their first New York-based strategic hire, and also formed a JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) taskforce with representatives of diverse groups across the team. Their most notable campaigns of the year include the “Own the Awkward'' campaign for accounting and bookkeeping software client Ignition, and an Earth Day activation for carbon neutral shipping client Sendle.
