The PR Net 100, 2022: Moxie Communications Group

Moxie Communications Group helps startups become household names and reinvigorates mature brands for modern audiences. With headquarters in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, Moxie consists of 50 curious creatives that have been at the forefront of pacesetting innovations for over 10 years. Over the last year, Moxie has increased its client roster and revenues thanks to new agency capabilities, including an emerging industry practice, affiliate engagement, celebrity and influencer activations and brand partnerships. Their most unique capability is MAPS, the agency’s proprietary in-depth messaging process designed to define brand narrative and positioning. This year, leadership adjusted employee benefits to further support team members, including paid sabbatical leave for long-term team members, a stipend toward professional or personal development and matching 401K contributions after employees’ first full month of employment (rather than a full year). Moxie also increased DEI efforts with the creation of designated committees to educate and improve our company’s culture, as well as the launch of the agency’s pro-bono PR offering, Moxie Kickstart.

How are you innovating and moving the industry forward?

“Moxie prides itself on being the best creative partners to our clients. That means understanding, adapting and meeting their evolving needs in today’s ever-changing PR landscape. Storytelling is a critical part of building a brand, and how that content resonates with consumers is important to gaining their trust and loyalty. Innovation should be around how those messages are crafted, positioned and delivered – and that is what Moxie has continued to propel forward with our MAPS process. On the flipside, being a valuable resource to journalists is key to Moxie’s long standing relationships across virtually every industry. We understand the challenges that media face and continue to serve their changing needs and preferences (and not only when we need to get coverage on clients!). Moxie also continues to stay ahead of the curve when new trends develop, whether that’s in the NFT/crypto/Web3 space, affiliate, social media and more. We approach integrated campaigns from a holistic 360-degree view, ensuring we capture digital and non-digital tactics to reach target audiences in the best way possible at the right time with the right content.”
