Elliot Tomaeno held posts at PR agencies from NY to LA, London to Paris before founding his own shop, ASTRSK. Tomaeno, who was named on Forbes’ 30 under 30 list, started ASTRSK to provide tech startups with full-service, yet lower-cost support compared to the high retainers the big agencies were charging. Today, the New York-based public relations agency works with startups and established tech names alike, offering strategic services across media relations, partnership development, fundraising strategy, branding and event production. ASTRSK has seen major successes in the last couple of years, including taking Lemonade insurance company public and helping Misfits Market expand across the US. The company grew by 30% during 2021, and now have half early stage and half late stage companies on their roster.

What are you most proud of as a leader?

Our long standing dedication to helping marginalized founders via our annual (sixth year this year) pro bono contest that is only open to female-founded, BIPOC or LGBTQ+ founders. The winner receives a year of PR with ASTRSK (a $250K value).
