Event Spotlight: The Fashion Culture Design Unconference

The Fashion Culture Design Unconference returns this year on Friday, June 16. Not your typical conference, the event promises debate and innovation, not pitches.

Industry leaders will unite at the The New School University Center Tishman Auditorium to discuss the most influential trends of today--as well as those that have lost their luster. Over the course of ten conversations, panels will explore everything from data and advertising to fashion week and women in business.

Attendees can expect to hear from Droga5 CEO Andrew Essex, as he questions the pulse of the advertising industry. Ahead of the opening of his new, aptly-named Public hotel, Studio 54 co-founder Ian Schrager will talk exclusivity and whether the velvet rope has lost its authority. Meanwhile, designer Jeff Staple will lead the conversation on predicting just what Gen Z will want next.

Additional speakers include designer Zac Posen, Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine, InStyle EIC Laura Brown and CFDA President and CEO Steven Kolb. Co-hosted by conference founder Simon Collins, alongside Hitha Herzong, the event takes a raw, honest approach to the most challenging topics in fashion, culture and design.
