South by Southwest has continued to grow over the years from a small indie music festival into a nine day affair with hundreds of events to choose from spanning music, tech, film and fashion (and that’s counting only the official events). How to navigate the best options in the plethora of offerings? We found some of the best events your SXSW attendee badge has to offer, plus some great satellite gigs:
March 10th, 11 AM Nerdist’s Backyard Bash Kick off the week in Texas with a backyard BBQ. Join Nerdist for party games, celebrity interviews, live performances, and all the beer and BBQ you can handle. You’ll catch a glimpse of podcast and TV stars alike including Nerdist founder Chris Hardwick.

March 13, 5 PM SAG Indie and the DGA Filmmaker Cocktail Party SAG Indie and the Directors Guild of America invite you to join them for cocktails celebrating the films of SXSW.
March 13-17, 12 PM-2 AM Mazda Studio at Empire Powered by Spin Mazda's back for a third year at SXSW--this time at Empire Control Room powered by Spin. Experience Mazda's artistry process first hand. Once the sun goes down, Empire will transform to a hot spot for music showcases with different performances each night.

March 16, 11 AM FLOODfest @ SXSW FLOODfest is one of the most sought after shows at SXSW and was named Adweek’s #5 Most Talked About Event. Previous talent includes Spoon, Run The Jewels, Vince Staples, Bleached, Courtney Barnett, Nosaj Thing and lots more.
Date TBA Perez Hilton One Night in Austin Perez Hilton hosts his annual showcase of his favorite performers. This year’s lineup has yet to be announced but with former lineups including Iggy Azalea, Pharrell Williams, and Katy Perry you can count on some serious star power.
