Our Guide to Awards Season

After the chaos of the holiday season winds down, we have awards season to look forward to! Celebrating the best in film, television and music, these events offer fashion, parties, partnership opportunities and more. Read on for info on this year’s awards shows as well as the biggest after-parties.

The Award Shows:
The Academy Awards
The big, four-hour long kahuna. Jimmy Kimmel hosts this year’s proceedings. Sure to be full of historic speeches, gorgeous gowns, surprising upset wins and of course plenty of videos.

The Grammys
See Beyonce win at least a few of her nine nominations for Lemonade. The annual ceremony will recognize the best recordings, compositions and artists of the year. Late-night host James Corden will host. Other big nominees include Adele, Rihanna and Justin Bieber.

Film Independent Spirit Awards
In addition to being a fantastic party, the Spirit Awards ceremony brings together top talent from Hollywood and throughout the independent film world. Awards are given for Best Feature, Best First Feature, Best Feature Made for Under $500,000 (the John Cassavetes Award) and many more.

Screen Actors Guild Awards
This one is all about the movie and TV stars. The Screen Actors Guild Award is an accolade given by the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists to recognize outstanding performances in film and primetime television.

The Parties:
Elton John Academy Awards Viewing Party
The star will host his 7th annual Oscar viewing party in West Hollywood, which will raise millions of dollars for his Elton John AIDS Foundation. High-caliber stars attend the party to watch the ceremony, dance and celebrate and bid on a silent auction.

CAA Pre-Oscars Party
Held at a private residence, this is one of the most exclusive invites you can snag and is heavily attended by CAA clients who are nominees. If you do snag that invite you’ll be in good company - last year the guest list included A-Listers like Brad Pitt, Steven Spielberg and Kate Winslet.

Vanity Fair Oscars Party
Following weeks of Pre-Oscars parties and luncheons, the magazine saves the best party for last with its classic post-Oscars party. Almost all Oscar attendees stop by the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and take a photo in the photo booth and say hi to host Graydon Carter.

Grammy Awards Official After Party
Hosted at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the Grammys always hosts a massive post-ceremony celebration with a theme (last year’s was Bollywood). It wouldn’t be a Grammys party without amazing performances and many of this year’s nominees are sure to perform.
