8 New Restaurant & Venue Openings

Summer might feel like a total slowdown, however the hospitality world is doing anything but. From fine dining and lounge settings to casual eats and cool hotels, there's something new for everyone in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Here are the latest openings to know from coast to coast.

Kassi Club (LA)
Now open

Restaurateur Nick Mathers and his Wish You Were Here Group (Élephante, The Eveleigh) opened Kassi Club in LA this summer. Designed to transport its patrons straight to the Greek Islands, Mathers took a cue from the traditional taverna and gave it a modern feel, with wood oak floors and a stone bar. The lounge setting is perfect for enjoying a Greek-inspired menu and extensive cocktail program. Plus, expect regular DJ acts to keep the summer vibes going all year round.

Arthouse Wine Bar (NYC)
Now open

Arthouse Hotel’s Beverage Director and resident sommelier, Sam Mushman, is on a mission to make wine accessible to everyone at Arthouse Wine Bar. The new concept in the hotel’s lobby bar is centered around sommelier-curated wine selections and arts programming. Available by the bottle or as tasting flights, guests can choose from NY varietals like Wolffer Estate as well as international varietals from South Africa, Italy, France and more.

Black Tap (NYC)
Now open

NYC-born Black Tap has just opened in Herald Square at the soon-to-be Kixby Hotel. In its first partnership with Rockwell Group, the restaurant design reflects its ‘80s-’90s soundtrack, complete with an installation of 5,000 custom-designed cassette tapes and an oversized neon boombox. Local graffiti artists and twin brothers How and Nosm marked the space with their signature art murals inspired by the city. Alongside menu favorites, expect to see new items (being tested for worldwide launches) and don’t miss the stand-alone Shake Bar.

La Ventura (NYC)
Now open

From the teams that brought us Ward III and The Rum House comes La Ventura, an instant West Village favorite. The all-day cafe is inspired by coastal culture (read: the laidback lifestyle of Southern California paired with the high quality ingredients of the Mediterranean). Fresh and healthy options dominate the menu, and the cocktail offerings are equally easy and light, made with ingredients like kombucha and carrot juice. Stop by for a meal any time of day, or hang out for a coffee and a snack.

Le Jardinier & Bar Shun (NYC)
Now open

Chef Alain Verzeroli’s two new restaurants at 610 Lexington Avenue (at 53rd Street) might share an entrance, but they offer completely different experiences. On the ground floor, the Joel Robuchon protégé serves a vegetable-driven menu with light, seasonal fare. Upstairs, Bar Shun offers a menu of Japanese flavors with a French take. The bi-level space was designed by esteemed architect Joseph Dirand, so the aesthetics on their own merit a visit.
