From ultra-luxe hotels and restaurants to personalized service and immersive pop-ups, here's how top luxury brands are expanding into hospitality. 


Shinola Hotel



Shinola Hotel

Shinola will open its first-ever hotel in Downtown Detroit this December. Partnering with Bedrock, the area’s largest developer, Shinola will carry its signature aesthetic (think: Shinola leather pillows and turntables) throughout the property, as well as same degree of personalized services its stores are known for. NoHo Hospitality Group’s Andrew Carmellini will head up the F & B programming.



Hôtel Des Horlogers

Audemars Piguet Hôtel Des Horlogers

Audemars Piguet is putting roots down in its native Switzerland, as work is underway on Hôtel Des Horlogers (opening in 2020). Located in the village of Le Brassus, besides the watchmaker’s workshop, the high-design hotel will include two restaurants and a bar, plus spa and conference centre. Perhaps most notable is the hotel’s roof, which will slope down to the ground to match the area’s sloping topography--and so guests can ski down, of course.

From the poshest neighborhood in London to an exclusive locale in Bali, the brand embraces each city’s culture while maintaining its heritage Italian luxury. The restaurants, spas and experiences all follow suit. New properties in Paris, Moscow and Tokyo will opening in the next few years.


Restoration Hardware’s RH New York & RH Guesthouse


RH New York 

Restoration Hardware is on the move, having just unveiled its six-level RH New York gallery in time for NYFW. The Meatpacking District space is comprised of a rooftop restaurant and wine terrace, barista bar, and, of course, entire floors dedicated to RH Interiors brands. Next year, the brand will open RH Guesthouse hotel in the same neighborhood.


YSL Beauty Hotel


YSL Beauty Hotel

YSL Beauty makes a mark in SoHo this month with its Beauty Hotel. Popping up for just two days in a five-level townhouse, the space provides an immersive experience of YSL Beauty. Guests will have many an Instagram opportunity in the decked-out pool room, fragrance workshops, plush lounges, cafe and rooftop shop.  


Garden & Gun Club


Garden & Gun Club

Southern food and style magazine Garden & Gun makes a move into the hospitality space with Garden & Gun Club. Both the design and food offerings at the lively restaurant, located in Battery Atlanta, take a cue from the glossy’s penchant all things Southern. Dishes like Pimento Cheese buttermilk crackers and crudités are served in an eclectic and elegant space.


Tommy Hilfiger, The Raleigh Hotel

Tommy Hilfiger acquired his way into the hospitality scene in 2014, purchasing Miami Beach’s Raleigh Hotel. Setting out to revive the iconic property, he successfully injected a dose of glamour and exclusivity, bringing the Raleigh brand to life.


Karl Lagerfeld Hotel

The world’s first Karl Lagerfeld Hotel--fully designed by the Chanel creative director--will launch in Macau next year.
