Experiential Event Highlight: AMC’s The Walking Dead Fan Celebration by 3CS

In celebration of The Walking Dead’s highly-anticipated series finale this fall, AMC Networks partnered with 3CS Productions to transform the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter into the ultimate in-world fan destination at San Diego Comic-Con. With over 800 guests and a 3000-person waitlist, The Walking Dead Fan Celebration reunited fans to celebrate and relive some of the most iconic moments and characters from the past eleven seasons.

3CS designed and produced the one-night experience, transforming the space into The Commonwealth after the fall of civilization using custom fabricated elements inspired by the series and actual props from the show to transport fans. Attendees were treated to live walkers, a relics gallery, an on-site t-shirt screen printing station featuring custom designs, an airbrush zombie makeup station and other experiential moments inspired by the show. A highlight of the evening was the special appearances from The Walking Dead cast and producers – including Micheal James Shaw, Seth Gilliam, Angela Kang, Lauren Ridloff, Josh McDermitt, Cailey Fleming, Greg Nicotero, and Norman Reedus.

Another special moment for fans was the impressive collection of set pieces, including a gallery of never-before-seen props and relics from all seasons of The Walking Dead that spotlighted the show’s artistry and craft. The event featured memorable photo moments throughout, and another highlight for guests was live walkers – in full prosthetics and wardrobe from the show – giving fans a real in-world experience.

“This event was all about treating the fans,” said Chelsea Wilson, CEO & Founder of 3CS. “Giving them the chance to experience their favorite elements of the series – especially a series with such a passionate fan base – was a lot of fun.”
