The PR Net Next Gen, 2024: Department PR

The Department PR team is a small and agile group that emphasizes a human-centric approach to communications clients across art, culture and design. This year, the agency worked on the US book debut for Indigenous Canadian artist Kent Monkman's two-spirit alter ego, and supported architecture firm Woods Bagot on several projects including their new book with Rizzoli ‘Renewing the Dream’, which focuses on LA's shift towards sustainability through design. On the fair front, Department PR delivered two major campaigns for Independent Art Fair’s May and September iterations, implementing communications strategies that focused on storytelling behind the curated fair – which exceeded past years’ coverage in terms of both quantity and quality. The agency's social impact focus is evident in projects with clients like For Freedoms, dedicated to catalyzing social change through art, and Claire Oliver, committed to changing the art history canon by highlighting the work of people of color and women artists.
