Axe + Saw was built on one simple truth: attention cannot be bought, it has to be earned. Founded in 2021 by Rachel Allison, the creative storytelling agency earns that attention with a team genuinely embedded in the cultures and communities it speaks to---an approach it calls Comms 6.0. The past year proved the model at scale, as the UK firm opened a US operation, added two Director-level hires and a US-based VP, and won Volvo Global in a competitive pitch against larger legacy agencies, a landmark moment that saw a major global brand place its trust in a values-led independent founded by a Black woman. For Vinted's US launch, the team moved from a guerilla street tease through New York City's streets and subway to a scroll-stopping CGI hero asset by artist Ian Padgham, helping establish the resale platform in a critical new market. The agency also unveiled Spotify's Listening Lounge through bespoke press previews and a launch event, positioning the space as a new home for artists to connect with top fans. Other briefs carried genuine cultural weight, from CoppaFeel's breast cancer awareness campaign for underrepresented communities to Arsenal in the Community's 40-year legacy program, alongside pro bono support for Sistah Space, a charity protecting Black women experiencing domestic abuse.
