As Director of Global Communications, PR and Content Development at the Bermuda Tourism Authority, Kiwan Michael Anderson has set out to make Bermuda a destination in its own right. Over the past year, he’s played a key role in the island's tourism rebound, leading efforts such as selecting a new PR and creative agency as well as collaborating on innovative campaigns with content creators and media partners. One of his most notable projects to date is his work on the inaugural JetBlue flight from New York’s LGA to Bermuda. Reimagining Summer Fridays, he invited media and NYC-based influencers to fly with JetBlue to Bermuda on the first summer Friday to kick off the season. Guests captured real-time content throughout their journey, reinforcing the proximity messaging around the 90-minute flight from NYC; this effort successfully increased flight bookings and attracted more visitors to the island. He also brokered a partnership with musician Ashanti to visit Bermuda for Carnival; the partnership garnered national and international coverage for the island. Kiwan also played a pivotal role in Bermuda's inaugural Vegan Fest by securing the attendance of two prominent vegan influencers. Kiwan began his career at Arista Records, and later held posts at The Source Magazine, OMEGA Watches/Swatch Group US, The Chamber Group and Nike Communications.
