Karen Whitt

Vice President of Sales & Marketing

The Hartling Group

Karen Whitt is Vice President of Sales & Marketing at The Hartling Group, leaving her Texas roots to become an integral part of the Turks and Caicos Islands community for over two decades now. Her work reflects an innovative way of thinking that creates a positive impact both inside and outside of the organization – from marketing campaigns to career development and philanthropy. Such campaigns include the pandemic-era Staples Mission, where the company collaborated with partners to provide food and essentials to affected hospitality staff. She also implemented ‘Heartfelt Hartling Hospitality' as the new reopening standard for all three hotels, emphasizing the importance of safety and guest comfort while preserving the hospitality for which The Hartling Group is known. On the philanthropic and community fronts, Karen conceptualized and – now in its 14th year – hosts In The Pink, an annual fundraising event for breast cancer. As the host of the TCI Film Festival, Karen merges arts and culture with her marketing endeavors, enriching the community's creative landscape. She’s also known for her commitment to creating jobs and career paths for local residents; the annual Hartling Group Girls Empowerment event provides girls of all ages on the island with unique opportunities to learn and be inspired, nurturing the potential of the next generation. Prior to joining The Hartling Group, Karen held posts at Somerset Hospitality, and was later GM at The Palms, a prestigious Caribbean resort.
