Gabrielle Gambrell is the Senior Communications Lead at Amazon, acting as the head of communications for Inclusive Experiences and Technology's Devices and Services team, including Amazon's DEI arm. Throughout her career, she’s led award-winning internal and external communications, events and multimedia storytelling via digital, print, video, editorial and creative design teams – as well as led triumphant media relations and strategic crisis and communications. Gabrielle's impactful work with COLTURE (which stands for Can Our Leverage Teach Us Real Equity) and Bonfire Women has played a vital role in shaping societal discourse on current national challenges, addressing diversity and cultural complexity in the U.S. She has driven thought leadership on humanitarian issues affecting underrepresented communities and countered mis/disinformation on civil and human rights through op-eds in national print publications. Her cultural competence was crucial in creating an authentic campaign video for Pfizer's global audience, fostering inclusivity and breaking through to national platforms for civic conversations. Gabrielle's counsel guides Pfizer's commitment to understanding the unique needs of its diverse workforce of 83,000 employees worldwide. Committed to staying attuned to the latest trends and insights in the classroom, Gabrielle is a Columbia University and NYU professor teaching courses in integrated marketing, digital and social media, media relations, corporate communications and more. Prior to joining Amazon, she was Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Barnard College of Columbia University – the first Black woman to hold her title, and the youngest since the College’s founding in 1889. Prior to Barnard, she held leadership posts at FCB Global, NBCUniversal and CBS Corporation.
