While we love a good margarita, the extra time on all of our hands these days calls for getting creative with our cocktails. Just in time for National Tequila Day (PSA: it's Friday, July 24), we rounded up a series of refreshing cocktail recipes as an ode to the spirit-filled day. Whether you are sipping by the pool or imbibing on your couch, these cocktail ideas make for the perfect end to the work week.
Casa Mint Lemonade
Ingredients
2 oz. Casamigos Blanco Tequila
0.5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
0.5 oz.oz. Simple Syrup
8-10 Mint Leaves
Top off with Lemonade
Garnish with Lemon Wheel (inside glass) and Mint Sprig (tucked behind lemon wheel)
Method: Combine all ingredients, except lemonade into tin shaker. Muddle mint, add ice and shake vigorously, then fine strain into collins glass. Add fresh ice, top off with lemonade and garnish.
The Valoma
Ingredients
3/4 OZ Lime Juice
3/4 OZ Agave Syrup
1.5 OZ Grapefruit Juice
Pinch salt
Method: Shake and serve over ice, top with soda water, grapefruit flavored sparkling water or grapefruit soda.
Mango Margarita
Ingredients
1.5 oz El Tequileño Reposado
2 oz Mango Puree
1 oz Mango Liqueur
1.5 oz fresh lime juice
Method: Add all ingredients to a shaker over fresh cubed ice. Shake until ice cold. Strain into martini glass. Garnish with a piece of dehydrated mango
The Mercadito
Ingredients
2 Parts Milagro Silver
3/4 Part Agave Nectar
1 Part Fresh Lime Juice
4 Cucumber slices
1 Pinch Cilantro
1 Thin Jalapeño Slice
Method: Muddle cucumber, cilantro and jalapeño slice in a Boston shaker. Add remaining ingredients and shake vigorously with ice. Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish cocktail with cucumber slice and cilantro sprig.
Oaxacan Old Fashioned
Ingredients
2 parts Tres Agaves Organic Añejo Tequila
1/4 part agave nectar
3 dashes of mole bitters
Method: Build in a rocks glass over ice. Stir all ingredients and garnish with orange peel.
