Description:

A New York based position, working out of the club premises in Tribeca, and responsible for the recruitment and retention of Under 35 members for Spring Place, through consistent outreach activities, networking, presence at events and personal contacts. Creation, management and organisation of an U30 membership committee, and daily liaison with, and supervision of, U30 members. Playing a central role in the creation of event programming that appeals to U30 members and any additional initiatives and activity conceived to connect with, attract and retain younger members at Spring Place.

-Under the guidance and supervision of the Membership Director, assist with recruiting U30 members for the membership committee, whilst helping to ensure the committee as a whole is broad based and spread across all the core creative industries for Spring Place.

-Assist with the scheduling, organisation and management of committee meetings approximately every 3 months throughout the year, to consider, discuss and review all new Community Member applications as a group. Ensure that the club accepts sufficient numbers of suitable new U30 Community Members to hit budget targets. In addition, gather feedback, both good and bad, about club developments, levels of service, facilities and member perceptions.

-Ensure U30 committee members are productive in generating fitting new member applications through regular contact, reminders to stimulate applications the week before meetings and recurrent attendance to endorse new applicants. Manage poor performance/results through conversations and refresh weak committee members when necessary.

-Liaise with the Membership Manager on a day to day basis, ensuring applications are correctly filled in and submitted, assisting with queries about data and waiting lists, ensuring applicants are informed on status, payments are processed, and packs/cards are issued efficiently.

-Pay close attention to any resignations by U30 members, making notes as to the reason(s) and making contact directly as and when appropriate.

-Maintain a constant presence in the clubs via shifts coordinated through a rota run by the Membership Director. Be a ‘face’ of the House to U30 members, and observe club attendees, conduct and guests for membership reports.

-Ensure you meet all new U30 members where possible, explaining your role and allowing them to contact you if they choose.

-During U30 events, and, more generally, when in the club spaces, identify attendees and guests that would make good U30 Local or Community Members and make subtle approaches about joining the club.

-Take part in on site induction activities to welcome new members to the club, explaining facilities and making introductions.

-Play an active part in the creation and implementation of U30 event programming, supporting the Event Programming team to help ensure that events are well planned and communicated. Make sure members can host or help with events (where applicable) as well as suggest new event formats.

-With the guidance of the Membership Director, work with members to ensure they understand the club rules.

-Promote the club directly to appropriate new U30 Local and Community Members through tours around the facilities and permitting choice individuals to experience the club via guest listing.

-Engage in the young creative scenes, events, parties, launches and social settings of Manhattan, acting as an ambassador, developing contacts, networking and building awareness about the club, its facilities, your role, and how potential new U30 members might join Spring Place.

-Promote the offices, work spaces and social areas of the club in order to generate interest in U30 Resident, Local and Community membership.

-For major Spring Place events, both on and off site, play a central role in putting together the guest list(s) to ensure appropriate U30 members are invited.

Requirements:

A charismatic, well presented, confident, amiable and impeccably mannered creative individual with in depth knowledge of New York’s youth scenes. Someone plugged into the club nights, events, social scenes and neighborhoods frequented by appropriate potential U30 members. A long-term city resident with a large and varied personal contacts circle of young professionals. Someone organised and professional, with excellent attention to detail.
