Description:

The in-house Director of Press Relations/Events will manage Press Relations and Events for Jane Smith Clients and the agency at a national and global level.

Provide services to clients from outsourced press relations plans and strategies to events management and advisory services. Support the planning and implementation of large scale brand image driving event and philanthropic initiatives.

For Jane Smith Agency, the position will develop and implement a brand press and communications strategy to raise industry awareness of our unique capabilities to drive engagement and interest for new business. This will involve a competitive audit and understanding of our strategic positioning goals based, refinement of our brand message, media alerts and business, trade and style story placement.

Develop National and Global PR Strategies and Calendars

Plan and implement PR projects, and track results

Draft and deploy press releases, tool kits, media alerts and expert Q&As in partnership with clients and PR agencies

Partner with all required teams including executives, marketing and product development for both consumer and trade publications as needed

Provide insight and report on the current state of alignment on building a global brand through consistent communications. As needed, assess regional execution strategies and agency relationships to create snapshot of messaging by type (launch, event, social, trade), frequency, timing, alignment

Develop ongoing process recommendations

When needed, provide recommendations for Crisis Management and Customer Service Escalation and partner with clients and their agencies to assure dissemination and execution plans are in place

Event planning and execution

Maintain relevance in the client industry through research, compilation and sharing competitive reports

Where needed support the development of a media extranet for access to materials by authorized Press and Social Influencers

Prepare quarterly press coverage tracking reports, PR Value summaries, and “best of” regional launch and event recaps

Support Global philanthropic program development and co brand partnerships

Assist in planning and execution of high-level press trips, in partnership with selected agency, if needed

Develop seasonal and evergreen “Press Gift” offers

Manage deployment of Event Guidelines and trafficking of Event requests

Manage event and PR budgets and assure compliance with agency billing and authorization protocols

Manage external PR vendor relationships, as needed, to assure timely execution

Develop and maintain annual budgets and forecasting

Partner with agency account director to assure timely updates on client projects for reporting and status meetings

Participate in evening and early morning scheduled calls as needed to support account relations

Develop and execute press strategy and plan including LinkedIn postings on specific topics by Founder, CMO and agency subject matter experts

Create target list of key industry conferences for senior leadership panel participation

Evaluate luxury industry marketing and digital conference participation opportunities and suggestion approach to support visibility

Pitch agency stories, arrange meetings, manage publicity calendar and support execution and logistics including attendance at interviews

Manage conference participation

Create “media toolkit” materials to support press inquiries and story pitches

Prepare quarterly press coverage tracking reports, reputation analysis, PR Value summaries, and event recaps

Support agency social media strategy and editorial calendar as needed

Develop agency “news” calendar

Develop presentations and support executive speechwriting as needed
