DESCRIPTION:

Perowne International is looking for an Account Coordinator to join our growing team of Publicists based in New York City supporting luxury travel clients. This is an entry-level opportunity for recent graduates looking to start their career in public relations.

For this role, the Account Coordinator will be supporting client teams responding to client requests, monitoring media alerts and social media channels, actively pitching media, and assist team members in executing PR plans.

The team comes into the office on a hybrid schedule of 3x per week.

Responsibilities Include:

Account Management

  • Compiles weekly and monthly clip books
  • Compiles flash reports and status reports
  • Drafts meeting agendas and takes attends ongoing client meetings
  • Participates in media events as directed by Account Supervisor
  • Demonstrates understanding and working knowledge of social media

Client Activities

  • Acts as day-to-day client contact
  • Responds to ongoing client requests with approval from Account Supervisor
  • Client communication is proactive and relevant
  • Actively participates and provides input in client meetings

Media Activities

  • Conducts proactive vs. reactive media pitching
  • Conducts media appointments for clients and agency
  • Drafts press releases and pitches
  • Creates targeted and accurate media lists for releases and pitches
  • Books travel and accommodations for press trips
  • Participates in press trips

Agency Responsibilities

  • Attends and contributes constructive input in staff meetings
  • Participates in agency brainstorms
  • Acts as agency representative at client, media and industry meetings/events
  • Participates in new business pitches
  • Models enthusiasm and contributes to positive morale
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field
  • Relevant internship experience or 1 year of experience in public relations, ideally within a PR agency
