Pace Gallery has a unique opportunity for a versatile and passionate Public Relations Manager to join our Communications & Public Relations team. Pace has been a constant, vital force in the art world and has introduced many renowned artists’ work to the public for the first time. We are dedicated to nurturing the careers of our internationally acclaimed artists and artist estates by placing their work in important public and private collections worldwide. We work closely with respected institutions to organize traveling museum exhibitions, special projects, lectures, and collaborations, and produce world-class publications.  

As a member of our dynamic and creative team, you will play an important part in developing, implementing, and promoting the mission and voice for not only our gallery, but also our artists. You will be comfortable managing multiple deadlines simultaneously, will inspire those around you to excel, and have a passion for and deep knowledge the arts. Working out of our Chelsea, New York offices, you will be the driving force behind our national strategy, frequently collaborating with our Europe and Asia teams as well as our external PR agency.

In this role, you will:

- Develop detailed and multi-faceted press strategies for exhibitions and projects for our New York galleries.

- Support the gallery's global brand strategy, including expansion-planning, and developing and disseminating an outward-facing narrative to be implemented through press outreach.

- Work with artist representatives to generate awareness of projects and exhibitions our artists are working on outside of the gallery.

- Work with the Marketing Manager and the Marketing Director, as well as the Research & Archives Department on the positioning of the artists and exhibitions, through press and gallery-produced content.

- Work with gallery artists and/or artist studios on coordinating press events, outreach, requests, and interviews.

- Manage and write press releases that craft the narrative for each exhibition and project in collaboration with the Research & Archives Department, dealer offices and artists/studios.

- Be a point of contact for national and regional media for all gallery and artist projects and exhibitions.

- Maintain the gallery press database.

- Oversee and coordinate with our public relations agency partner and develop new strategies to optimize their support of our global communications strategy.

Requirements:

Your qualifications:

- Degree in Communications, PR and/or Marketing, preferred.

- A minimum of five years of direct communications, public relations or marketing experience, in the arts or a related creative field.

- Demonstrate experience building and executing public relation campaigns that produce significant results.

- Professional experience executing integrated PR campaigns across multiple platforms, including print and digital, radio and broadcast.

- Have a thorough knowledge of, and passion for, contemporary art.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships.

- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.

- Prior success influencing, leading and interacting with media and press.

- An energetic upbeat team player who exercises diplomacy and creativity in their work and within their teams.
