DESCRIPTION:

Coordinate public relations efforts for Sephora, including but not limited to promoting Sephora stores, store events, Digital, Innovation Lab, Consumer Initiatives (Community, Play!, campaigns), Sephora Collection, Social Impact and all corporate initiatives. Assist the Director and Vice President in directing the Public Relations team in the execution of objectives to maximize earned media coverage across all national, regional and social channels. Direct reports include the Public Relations Assistant Manager and Coordinator (contractor).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Director of Public Relations with agency, media and departmental initiatives and activities
  • Lead and help direct the US, Business and Digital public relations agencies, providing direction and overseeing execution of press outreach for company initiatives
  • Liaise with Brand Marketing, Campaign and Content, Beauty Insider, Play!, Digital (including Innovation Lab), Sephora PRO and Merchant teams (as needed) on a bi weekly basis to coordinate/evaluate upcoming program focuses
  • Develop and execute support PR activity for Field Marketing, Event Marketing, regional expertise awareness and SiJCP store openings
  • Manage speaking engagement vetting and management processes
  • Manage Public Relations budget, calendar and marketing task list with ease
  • Assist with Crisis Communications issues as they arise, including strong critical thinking capabilities and partnering with other groups in ensuring the retailer is represented according to our values in crisis management situations
  • Enjoys being a team leader, with emphasis on development and career pathing for direct reports, including being able to have critical conversations
  • Oversee execution of internal reporting for company-wide initiatives, including press materials
  • Oversee Sephora Artistry Relations, including artist and agency outreach and networking, credit and mailing management
  • Manage speaking engagement vetting and management processes
  • Lead contact for LVMH Media, including managing LVMH extranet, VOICES and DMR reporting
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2-4 years public relations experience – either in-house or agency; beauty experience is preferred
  • University degree
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Strong presentation capabilities, can communicate upward and laterally with ease and strong at informing partners
  • Strong organizational skills and is able to juggle many projects at once
  • Independent thinker, values the capabilities and work quality of a team, has a strong understanding of internal and external clients and needs/priorities
  • Self-starter, action-oriented, resourceful, can take a project or program from start to completion
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and juggle many projects at once
  • Second language of French or Spanish is preferred
