WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

JG Black Book is seeking a smart, savvy and driven Public Relations Intern to join a growing PR division in a firm that specializes in luxury lifestyle and travel experiences. Responsibilities

  • Fully support company’s PR strategy and execute it in different phases
  • Ideate and contribute to print, online and broadcast pitching, while growing your own media network
  • Proactive approach to generating story ideas and pitch angles, as well as pitch identified media contacts via press releases, pitch letters, personal phone calls and additional creative outlets
  • Communicate and build relationships with current or prospect clients
  • Create and distribute press releases
  • Assist in administrative dutiesBuild and update media lists and databases
  • Schedule, coordinate and attend various events
  • Perform research and market analysis activities
  • Support in developing client reports, clip tracking and research as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to generate and use creative ideas and actions to secure media placements for clients
  • Ability to identify new media targets and cultivate media relationships
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills; a writing sample will be required
  • Detail oriented, organized and comprehension of deadlines / priorities
  • Strong belief in follow-through and team communication
  • Ability to anticipate needs of team and clients
  • Experience juggling a mix of accounts and/or projects
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to basic public relations tools and resources.
  • A familiarity with Cision is a plus.
  • Passion for the PR industry and its best practices
  • Current enrollment or completion in a related BS or Masters university/college
