Responsibilities
Media Relations
- Secure consistent and quality placements on clients’ behalf, including product features, round-ups, and thought leadership opportunities inclusive of broadcast, podcasts, and speaking opportunities.
- Demonstrate strong editor and producer relationships in the online, print, podcast, and broadcast verticals.
- Serve as the day-to-day and trusted resource for media contacts.
- Create and maintain comprehensive media lists, ensuring all contact and job information is up to date.
- Research inbound media requests and provide feedback to senior team members.
Client & Team Management
- Serve as the day-to-day resource for client contacts.
- Work with the senior team members to respond to client and editor requests and ensure they are handled professionally, timely, and efficiently.
- Help mentor, manage, and provide feedback to junior team members through regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings.
Writing
- Craft creative and dynamic pitches that catch the attention of journalists across a variety of industries.
- Draft, edit, and proofread materials including pitches, interview briefs, agendas, briefing notes, and client correspondence.
Research & Organization Qualifications
- Conduct media monitoring, compile coverage reports, and analyze PR campaign effectiveness.
- Provide actionable insights to clients and internal teams.
- Monitor news cycles for trend-jacking opportunities and relevant news hooks.
- Keep a steady pulse on competitor analysis by conducting comprehensive audits.
- Proactively communicate effectively with senior staff on the status of requested tasks and projects.
