Responsibilities

Media Relations

• Secure consistent and quality placements on clients’ behalf, including product features, round-ups, and thought leadership opportunities inclusive of broadcast, podcasts, and speaking opportunities.
• Demonstrate strong editor and producer relationships in the online, print, podcast, and broadcast verticals.
• Serve as the day-to-day and trusted resource for media contacts.
• Create and maintain comprehensive media lists, ensuring all contact and job information is up to date.
• Research inbound media requests and provide feedback to senior team members.

Client & Team Management

• Serve as the day-to-day resource for client contacts.
• Work with the senior team members to respond to client and editor requests and ensure they are handled professionally, timely, and efficiently.
• Help mentor, manage, and provide feedback to junior team members through regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings.

Writing

• Craft creative and dynamic pitches that catch the attention of journalists across a variety of industries.
• Draft, edit, and proofread materials including pitches, interview briefs, agendas, briefing notes, and client correspondence.

Research & Organization Qualifications

• Conduct media monitoring, compile coverage reports, and analyze PR campaign effectiveness.
• Provide actionable insights to clients and internal teams.
• Monitor news cycles for trend-jacking opportunities and relevant news hooks.
• Keep a steady pulse on competitor analysis by conducting comprehensive audits.
• Proactively communicate effectively with senior staff on the status of requested tasks and projects.

Requirements:

• You have 3+ years of experience in the PR industry, agency experience is preferred. 
• You have a proven ability to deliver strategic plans and secure consistent, high-quality media coverage.
• You have a strong knowledge of media list building including utilizing platforms such as Muckrack, Google Drive/Sheets, Coveragebooks, Slack, etc.
• You are a strong writer and communicator – persuasive, concise, creative, and quick!
• You are eager to network and build connections in the media industry.
• You are a strategic thinker, bring new ideas to the table, and love a good brainstorm.
• You are incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and able to excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• You understand and prioritize the objectives of each client and anticipate needs in advance.
• You demonstrate a positive, self-motivating attitude while managing time efficiently.
