The account supervisor (AS) position requires a minimum of 4-5 years of PR agency experience or corporate PR experience. Proven experience managing direct reports preferred.
The primary roles of an AS at C&R are:
Strategically manage 8 accounts – with minimal oversight, connecting with key decision makers and owning the client relationship, as well as monitoring KPI goals to ensure client satisfaction and ultimately client retention
Consistently secure A-List media placements – you and your teams
Leadership/mentoring – employee retention

The account supervisor plays an integral role in the agency. They are responsible for effectively leading 8 accounts with minimal oversight, maintaining A-list national media relationships, while coaching junior team members, and contributing to the overall strategic growth and development of C&R.
Major responsibilities include leading strategy and day-to-day campaign direction, connecting with key client contacts and owning the client relationship, setting and monitoring KPI goals to ensure account health, maintaining A-list national media relationships, mentoring direct reports (at least 1), and participating in new business development. An AS must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially presentation skills, and maintain close relationships with A-list media.
Account supervisors are able to effectively manage accounts with minimal oversight. In addition to ensuring overall account success, the AS knows how to manage the scope on the account and meets regularly with the team and client so that all is on track and the account is serviced accordingly within the SOW. The AS is ultimately responsible for client satisfaction and retention.
An effective AS knows how to motivate and drive their direct report(s) and account teams. In addition to being a supporter and mentor, the AS provides consistent coaching, feedback, and training to ensure the team is producing meaningful results that are being effectively merchandised to the client. They are also strong time managers and know how to focus on the most important, high-leverage activities – individually and for their teams.
Lastly, the account supervisor leads by example and is an ambassador for the agency, consistently meeting with top media, attending industry events, and creating other opportunities for the C&R team to connect beyond the office.

Client Relationships
Effectively manage account scope and ensure account is meeting goals while not being overserviced
Ensure long-term client retention and satisfaction by ensuring that client needs and expectations are achieved
Ensure that accounts have a strategic plan in place and team is focused on quality over quantity
Work to build a lasting relationship with key client decision makers in addition to daily client contacts
Ability to have challenging/crucial conversations and be direct and strategic, pushing back where necessary
Operate as industry experts, maintaining strong industry and competitive knowledge
Serve as the day-to-day contact/point person
Account Management
Effectively run/manage accounts with minimal daily input from leadership
Lead client meetings and conference calls with enthusiasm, using these as opportunities to gain insight on their business, provide our perspective on industry trends, brainstorm and plan, instill confidence in our work/ideas and excitement for the campaign, etc.
Ability to provide council on the spot that aligns with client goals and is within SOW
Meet with internal team at least monthly to provide real-time feedback and manage scope
Proactively create annual, bi-annual, or quarterly PR plans and timelines in advance of expiration to ensure we are in alignment with client goals and priorities
Contribute creative campaign suggestions on an ongoing basis (partnerships, programming, pitches, etc.)
Write and edit press releases, pitches, press kit documents, etc.
Media Relations
Maintain strong relationships and consistently meet in-person/Zoom with top KPI media targets and report intel/leads back to the team; stay in contact with media and bring opportunities to fruition
Drive and secure A-list media results with top KPI outlets; be results-oriented and leading by example
Coach the team to uncover new media contacts and build their networks
Be a valued expert, knowledgeable about the industries we represent (travel and real estate)
Work with team to book media tours and attend/lead (when appropriate)
Develop trend pitches and creative angles for clients
Run media tours and press trips
Merchandising
Ensure monthly status updates are completed and shared with clients on time, using this as an opportunity to gauge account health (placements and pipeline of commitments)
Work with team to develop and present annual KPI reports, clipbooks, and other tools to showcase C&R work
Management
Help junior staff and account teams focus on high-leverage work
Consistently provide real-time feedback and accountability
Assist junior staff with weekly project prioritization to avoid burnout
Manage core staff, conduct performance evaluations alongside leadership team
Coach, encourage and motivate core team members
Leadership
Assist senior staff with training and development; lead certain sessions
Lead important committee responsibilities
Actively assist with recruiting
Attend industry-related events (PRSA, travel/real estate conferences, etc.) to further promote the C&R brand and recruit new clients and talent Participate in new business efforts: brainstorms, building decks, presentations, etc.
