Senior Account Executives (SAE) effectively support/manage 8 accounts alongside team members. SAEs are responsible for the majority of the media pitching on their accounts and securing A-list media results for clients. The SAE is responsible for being the “expert” when it comes to all things media. SAEs nurture existing media relationships and are proactive in uncovering new opportunities/relationships for clients on a consistent basis. SAEs must demonstrate excellent writing, communication and presentation skills. In addition, they work with senior staff to offer creative campaign suggestions and ideas on a regular basis.
Media Relations:
Consistently secure A-list media results; be results-oriented
Read important media outlets on a regular basis and be familiar with key newspapers, magazines, trades, website and broadcast outlets. As a result, develop trend pitches and creative angles for our clients
Develop lasting relationships with key journalists and editors; showcase these relationships to the agency – recapping media conversations, sharing leads, etc. on a consistent basis
Develop top-target media lists
Develop compelling pitch angles that speak to the latest industry trends
Take the lead on booking media tours and press trips (and executing them)
Merchandising Our Work:
Track and monitor all placements/commitments as well as appropriate editorial calendar opportunities
Compile monthly status updates for clients and finalize for your team
Track media placements and merchandise effectively to clients
Develop annual media exposure summaries and ROI documents
Client Relationships:
Develop conference call agendas and lead client calls and in-person meetings
Accompany clients on media tours and press trips, when appropriate
Serve as the day-to-day contact/point person on accounts and be seen as a trust resource and expert on our work and industry
Account Management/Supporting Agency Initiatives:
Be one step ahead of account leads – take initiative, respond to client requests, present new ideas, etc. before being asked
Write and edit press releases, pitches, press kit documents, etc.
Prepare meeting and conference call agendas and meeting recaps
Assist senior staff on various tasks to ensure accounts are being serviced properly
Support and train junior staff on accounts
When necessary, conduct industry research
Brainstorm creative packages and angles for clients Monitor “Top 20” outlets, and ensure you are consistently in front of them, building relationships and providing valuable story ideas and being a resource
Support C&R sales efforts by managing clip books, attending new business pitches, etc.
Be the definition of a team player, keep the greater growth of the company in mind (seek to add value to clients, impact the bottom line, etc.). at all times
