The Last Agency (TLA) is looking for an enthusiastic, high-performing Press Officer to join and support our growing team. We are looking for a teammate that has a love of collaboration, research and writing, who is also excited to work for a small but growing organization. TLA is a New York-based communications agency with a national presence and portfolio of clients spanning the luxury design, culture, and lifestyle industries. The Press Officer will support TLA’s development and execution of media and brand strategies relating to the agency’s clients and portfolio of brands. In addition to providing administration support to the Communications team, the Press Officer will have the unique opportunity to assist in performing day-to-day tasks and responsibilities to help grow awareness and perception of the agency.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support TLA’s overall public relations, media and brand strategy efforts
Bring a positive attitude to a high energy team that “shows up” to work every day
Ask questions, bring new ideas, interact with your colleagues (virtually and in-person) and make your voice be heard
Monitor newspapers, magazines, broadcast and digital for client + industry news. Track and share published coverage
Utilize media databases (Muck Rack) and wide-ranging searches to update daily media coverage grids and actively research and update targeted media and contact lists
Know the media outlets and editors that make the most sense for your pitches and clients
Brainstorm and develop releases, briefings, pitches, external communications and brand partnership opportunities for account leaders to review
Attend meetings/calls, draft agendas and take notes with a high degree of detail and consistency
Meet ongoing deadlines for all account deliverables. Consistently demonstrate your ability to support account leaders
Build relationships with media, key partners and industry professionals
Contribute to the planning, logistics and execution of client events throughout the year
Assist in the development of monthly, project-based and yearly reporting
Assist and support in our internal needs, including social media support, organizational and office upkeep
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred in a communications or arts related field, or relevant internship experience
Interest in all things media - newspapers, magazines, digital and social content
Strong writing skills and detail oriented Ability to think on one’s feet and offer support as needed
Demonstrate an ability to multitask across a range of simultaneous projects
Willingness to conduct media and influencer research, writing and drafting press materials, creative brainstorming, event planning and execution Interest in the arts, architecture, design, lifestyle, fashion and/or similar fields
Passion to work for a small team and help build a growing agency from the early days
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and social media platforms
