What You’ll Do

As Publicist, your primary role is to serve as a pitching machine, constantly sharing creative ideas with media and managing the flow of requests generated.

How You’ll Do It

Positively impact Golden Word and its clients in a significant way

Build relationships with and pitch national, regional and local media with the goal of securing regular press coverage for clients

Brainstorm and research new ways to powerfully spread the word on behalf of clients

Fulfill press requests: interviews, images, information, product

Draft press documents

Plan, research, create or direct as applicable, distribute, and analyze content with the aim of attracting and engaging audiences and secure coverage for clients

Conduct influencer relations, from target list generation and initiating contact to relationship building and partnership execution

Manage client accounts, relationships and budgets in cooperation with account leads

Attend and support client meetings and media tours

Build relationships with and execute activations with partners and influencers

Manage guest communication and experience execution at events

This is a Hybrid Role

The person hired for this role is expected to work three days in the office and two days from home. There may be times when the person hired for this role needs to be in the office 5 days a week – appropriate notice will be provided.

Requirements:

What You’ll Need

3-4 years post-grad experience in PR, pitching and placing consumer stories with national media

Can capably pitch local/regional media and has national media and influencer contacts in some of our practice areas: food + beverage, fashion, design, and hospitality

Optimistic, solutions-oriented, resourceful, hustles with a smile

Interested in our client mix and feels responsible in performing well for them

Able to kindle relationships with new people & develop contact base to support clients

On top of new developments in media and social media, including new outlets and trends

Efficient and entertaining writer – understanding the difference between writing for PR and social media

Excellent English writing and speaking skills

Strikes perfect balance of independent team player

Can roll with the fast-paced, rapidly evolving development of a young business

A history of learning quickly, going where the job leads
