Job Summary:

As a Senior Experiential 3D Designer, you will lead and mentor a team of talented designers in creating captivating 3D event experiences that push creative boundaries and deliver exceptional results for clients. Your extensive experience and strategic mindset will be instrumental in shaping the direction of projects, fostering innovation, and elevating the overall quality of experiential design within the organization. 

Responsibilities:

●  Lead spatial design on some of the agency’s most robust and complex projects.

●  Actively participate and help drive the creative ideation process in Proposals and Sold Business.

●  Lead the development and execution of all 3D design elements on a project (floor plans, mood boards, 3D models, polished renderings, etc.). Be confident in making a recommendation on the assets needed to clearly articulate the design solution.

●  Ensure that project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

●  Assist the Creative Director and manage experiential designers and interns with design updates, production graphics, research, and admin tasks.

●  Guide and mentor junior designers, providing constructive feedback, nurturing their skills, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

●  Ability to manage and delegate work to other designers. Be able to provide constructive feedback to achieve the project goals. 

●  Lead site visits and surveys.

●  Manage sourcing of props, furniture, and decor.

●  Produce graphics using brand guidelines and prepare files for print.

●  Create design drawings to execute all custom design elements. Be able to directly interface with vendors and conduct shop visits when necessary to make sure fabricated elements are built as designed.

●  Stay actively involved during event installations, providing on-site guidance and resolving any design-related challenges that arise. Must be comfortable in directing vendors and crews onsite. Quick problem-solving abilities are also required.

●  Should be comfortable presenting the creative work to internal teams and directly to the client during creative reviews, as well as be able to effectively receive and interpret feedback.

●  Actively research industry trends, design innovations, and technological advancements to keep the team at the forefront of experiential event design.

●  Collaborate with production teams and external vendors to evaluate technical feasibility and ensure flawless execution of event designs.

●  Review post-event evaluations, gather insights, and use data-driven analysis to optimize future event designs.

Requirements:

●  5+ years of experience working on a creative team.

●  BA or equivalent required in a design-focused major (architecture, industrial design, 3D).

●  Enthusiastic self-starter with an in-depth knowledge of design principles and techniques.

●  Experience in 3D modeling, environmental design, and graphic design.

●  High proficiency in Mac OS / Windows PC, Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.)

●  Excellent working knowledge of 2D/3D drafting, modeling, and rendering programs such as SketchUp, Rhino, CAD, Vectorworks, Vray, and Enscape.

●  Demonstrate leadership experience, including managing teams, project direction, and client interactions.

●  Have strong project management and delegation skills.

●  Exceptional creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to develop innovative solutions for complex design challenges.

●  Strong graphic and typographic design skills.

●  Strong knowledge of print production.

●  Excellent artistic and creative abilities with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.

●  Capable of maintaining high standards under pressure and tight deadlines.

●  Strong client service, self-motivation, and time management skills required.

●  Solid understanding of technical aspects of event production, including materials, construction methods, and technology integration.

●  Exceptional communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate design concepts to clients and team members.

●  Must be an effective project leader, a clear communicator, highly organized, very detail-oriented, and able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

●  Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.

●  Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving project requirements.

●  Must have an elevated and culturally relevant design aesthetic.

●  Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successful event design projects and evidence of design leadership and innovation.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000.

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; location and region; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
