Crowe PR is seeking a talented Senior Media Manager with a range of consumer experience to join our team.

THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO BEING FULLY REMOTE FOR CANDIDATES OUTSIDE OF SAN DIEGO, CA. WE ARE HIRING IN THE FOLLOWING STATES: CA, FL, IL, NY, MA, NJ, NM, NC, MT, DC, PA, TN, TX.

At-Will Employment: This position is an at-will employee position.

Non-Exempt Position: This position is an exempt, salaried position. This role will be paid between $80,000 and $85,000/year DOE.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

Integrated PR Execution

- Aid in building and executing media strategy, utilizing existing contacts, databases, competitive research and more, working closely with account strategists and social media teams.

- Build and execute short and long-term media strategies, utilizing existing contacts, databases, social media competitive research and more; draft and distribute media materials to secure placements, including but not limited to press releases, media advisories, contributed articles, pitches, and more.

- Secure impactful media placements for clients and ensure team is delivering on client placement goals and KPIs.

- Identify media priorities for each account and collaborate with the team to update client media agendas.

- Consistently meet and engage with media professionals to nurture agency ‘friendlies’ database.

Client Relations

- Serve as a client-facing media expert, including media relations strategy, media coverage, partnerships, writing press materials and more.

- Lead client media training.

Writing

- Draft and distribute media materials, including press releases, media advisories, contributed articles, briefing books, blogs and more.

- Create pitch angles and timely news hooks for key accounts.

- Draft introductory pitches to new media contacts to expand our reach.

Team Management

- Coach junior team members on drafting introductory pitches to new media contacts.

- Confidently explain and educate media team on various media metrics (I.e. including impressions, circulation, ad value, Domain Authority and more).

- Serve as an expert resource on industry trends and recommend responsive steps for the team.

- Support leadership, set and maintain media department standards, and implement new processes for the department.

Planning and Reporting

- Support in the creation of quarterly PR plans as it relates to media visibility.

- Aid in creation of quarterly reports for clients.

- Conduct daily media and trends monitoring; report on trends within clients’ industries and make relevant recommendations to the wider media team and agency.

- Identify media priorities for each account and collaborate with the team on updating media agendas.

- Understand and explain media metrics, including impressions, circulation, ad value, Domain Authority and more.

Research & Tracking

- Monitor and flag coverage to account leads and coordinators, with added context behind placements.

Administrative Tasks

- Consistently audit and update media lists to ensure all contacts are relevant, up to date, and able to serve clients’ needs, and create new media lists when clients break into new industries.

Other

- Participate in new business presentations, as needed.

- Represent the agency in local business and public relations communities.

- Ideate and propose more efficient and effective processes that will aid the team and the company at large.

Requirements:

- 5+ Years of PR and/or integrated marketing agency experience.

- 2 years of experience in a management role required, 3 years preferred.

- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, or similar field preferred.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge of AP Style.

- Self-starter, who can complete tasks with little direction and can independently and problem-solve based on a combination of experience and research.

- Displays utmost professionalism internally and externally, with clients, partners, etc.

- A positive, analytical, and creative mindset to be used in identifying and approach challenges, inefficiencies, and ineffective processes with a solution-oriented mindset.

- A good and active listener, someone who reads people and those in a room well, and adapts their style and response accordingly. 

- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple client projects and deadlines across teams.

- Is solutions-oriented, recommends solutions when problems arise, assists colleagues in problem-solving, and seeks input from colleagues in problem resolution.

- Ability to work in a dynamic environment through flexibility, resilience and a positive outlook.

- Leadership characteristics such as open-mindedness to others’ communications style, viewpoints and opinions; empathy and compassion; being direct and giving feedback with respect and integrity.

- Experience with MuckRack and/or other journalist databases and reporting tools.

- Proficient at Microsoft Office Suite.
