Battalion has an opening for an Account Supervisor to work on a range of our luxury/fashion/lifestyle clients. We are interested in meeting with individuals who have 4-6 years of relevant PR experience, ideally within an agency environment. Candidates must possess well developed editorial contacts, strong leadership capabilities, solid communication skills, energy, enthusiasm and the ability to think creatively and strategically. Experience with events, tastemakers/creators and digital activations is a plus.
Job Description:
- Work with agency principals to develop annual communication programs, setting goals, overall strategy and tactical implementation plans, along with measurement criteria
- Leverage existing high-level media relationships and cultivate new ones on behalf of the agency and its clients
- Draft communication materials, including press releases, backgrounders and media alerts, as well as talking points and key messaging
- Pitch and secure feature stories, profiles and product placements across print, digital and broadcast media
- Oversee experiential event activations, including concepting and execution with responsibility for budgets and timelines
- Negotiate and manage celebrity and high-profile tastemaker contracts
- Develop and manage influencer activation campaigns Identify and secure strategic partnerships, brand alliances and sponsorship opportunities
- Supervise (1-2) junior staff and interns
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop short-term and long-term communication plans with corresponding budgets and timelines
- Possess a strong network of media contacts at all levels, ideally within fashion/jewelry/watches, as well as business and trade
- Motivated, organized self-starter who is able to both work independently and as part of a close-knit team
- Ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple clients and projects
- Strong attention to detail is essential
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write persuasively and present to clients and media
- Possess a positive attitude, be poised and professional, as well as discreet
- Experience in marketing/communications within the luxury goods/fashion industry is preferred
- Overall knowledge of the industry and a genuine interest in cultural activities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- *Position is based in New York City with a requirement to be in the office a minimum of (3) days each week
