AE –Active Lifestyle - Job Description

TURNER, a full-service public relations and digital communications agency specializing in travel, outdoor, wellness, lifestyle and spirits brands, is seeking an Account Executive (AE) to join our active lifestyle team. Candidates must have 3+ years of media relations experience with demonstrated results and knowledge working within the outdoor, sport, health & wellness or active channels. Our ideal candidate is based in New York, Denver or Chicago. We currently work from our offices on a hybrid schedule, two days per week in office.

Specific responsibilities may include:

Supports daily activities for designated active lifestyle accounts as part of a multi-person account team

Contributes 70+ percent of time to proactive media relations

Brainstorms new, fresh story angles and proactively pitches them to relevant media to support collection launches, collaborations and trend-driven narratives

Understands and prioritizes the objectives of each client; anticipates needs in advance

Support creative ideation for media events and provide on-site support and execution of events multiple times a year

Develops and maintains solid relationships with journalists, podcasters and social media influencers

Writes client collateral, which includes but is not limited to: news releases, media alerts, photo captions, media pitches, bios and fact sheets Oversees preparation of meeting agendas, notes and reports

Assists with client relations through meetings, conference calls, events and general contact

Stay abreast of current industry news and trends Act as first set of eyes on materials prepared by JAE/AC

Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Three or more years of active lifestyle communications experience; agency experience preferred

Holds established national endemic, outdoor, health & wellness and lifestyle media relationships, and the skills to develop new relationships using traditional and digital tools

BA or BS in public relations, journalism, communications or related fields

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Proficient in AP Style

Previous experience coordinating media familiarization trips, immersion events and/or desk side tours

Possesses excellent writing skills, with a strong attention to detail

Uses social media tools regularly and has experience integrating social media into public relations programs

Proficiency using TrendKite, Muck Rack, Burrelles, news wires and MS applications

Passion for an active lifestyle, whether that’s hiking, camping, skiing, running, studio fitness, etc.
