JUNIOR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE (INTEGRATED ROLE) 

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

The Junior Account Executive is responsible for providing administrative support to their account team and clients across all aspects of communications, marketing and digital initiatives. This entry-level position establishes foundational knowledge of integrated communications at Sutton and within the cultural industry at large. The Junior Account Executive will be tasked with contributing to the overall success of client strategies, including the implementation of multi-channel, 360-campaigns spanning earned media, digital marketing, and partnerships. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Account Administration

- Creates logical systems of organization for the team, and maintains client folders, filing and archiving as necessary

- Prepares press packets and approved written material on behalf of clients, tailored appropriately for journalists, digital influencers and the general public

- Reads, clips and tracks all relevant client coverage in newspapers and periodicals and on websites and blogs on a daily basis, proactively sharing this information in a timely manner with the appropriate team members, relevant clients and across offices as needed

- Issues press releases and invitations on behalf of clients, handling follow-up and tracking RSVPs

- Assists with the organization of press conferences, photocalls, press trips and other events on behalf of clients

- Facilitates basic media requests including sharing press kits, facilitating image requests, uploading listings, etc.

- Arranges client meetings and prepares agendas/briefings in advance

- Takes accurate notes during team and/or client meetings and circulates notes in a timely manner

- Updates the company’s office calendar on behalf of the team

- Conducts thoughtful and in-depth research and client briefings for the team as required

- Participates in team meetings and collates cross-client and cross-office pitches for the team

- Regularly shares intel on the industry and trending news around communications to the relevant team and across the office

- Supports on all aspects of reporting, from clipbooks to digital analytics

Content Creation & Digital Engagement

- Supports on drafting and scheduling content across various platforms on behalf of clients (social media, website, e-flyers, etc.)

- Supports on sourcing content (images, videos, etc.), editing and/or reformatting to fit appropriate channel

- Supports on community engagement across social media accounts on behalf of clients, flagging concerns to line managers in a timely manner

- Supports on the creation of digital toolkits to share with external partners and stakeholders

- Looks for creative ways to engage with and build audiencesStays on top of digital trends and industry news and shares this with the wider team in staff meetings

- Spearheads digital influencer research and metrics analysis as needed for client campaigns

Office Responsibilities

- Contributes to the magazine rota in the office, monitors mainstream conversations, flagging relevant trends to the office

- Contributes to Sutton’s social media platforms in coordination with the other teams and offices

- Supports on the coordination, writing and editing of Sutton mailers and year ahead documents throughout the year

- Feeds into company database, proactively researching new influencers relevant to our clients’ target audiences; sharing updates/information across teams/offices/company as relevant

- Attends the Executive Team meeting and carries out designated office duties on behalf of the Executive Team

- Attends internal and global team meetings as necessary

- Attends client and non-client events and acts as an ambassador for the company

- Performs any other task as required by Chief Executive, Vice President & Managing Director, Account Director or Account Manager

- Positively contributes to the team culture in the office, sharing knowledge with colleagues, working within office systems and following company guidelines and policies

Requirements:

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

- Ability to think creatively and find clear, interesting editorial threads to present information and generate innovative campaign and/or content ideasExperience working in a busy office environment, managing a full workload

- Established knowledge of primary social & digital platforms (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube), their audiences and of emerging technologiesWorking knowledge of Google Analytics, iMovie, InDesign, Photoshop

- Basic understanding of SEO, UX, and HTML

- Impeccable copywriting skills including the ability to create audience-focused content from academic sourcesExcellent attention to detail

- Ability to maintain clear and distinctive voices for multiple clients

- Strong understanding of who the showrunners are in the art world and in other creative industries – or willingness to learn

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to stay organized and prioritize deliverables for multiple stakeholders

- Clear communicator who ensures feedback and regularly updates managers

- Self-starter and with real interest and curiosity for the digital, media and cultural landscape and an ambitious and dynamic energy that drives a constant desire to innovate for our clients
