Alterna Haircare, a global luxury professional haircare brand based in NYC, is looking for a paid public relations & social media intern. Ideal for someone looking to grow within the public relations and/or luxury beauty industry.
Report directly to Senior Manager, Global Public Relations and Social Media
Media monitoring / clipping
Beauty closet management
Occasional research (competitive, media, social media, etc.)
Database management including brand influencers, media lists, etc.
Manage all product mailings and fulfill and track media requests
Basic community management of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Snapchat
Creative content creation for social media
Occasional administrative coordination
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong knowledge of social media platforms (including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, etc.)
Excellent writing skills (writing sample may be requested)
Excellent research capabilities
Genuine enthusiasm for the beauty industry
Strong familiarity with national beauty/style magazines and websites/blogs
General knowledge of social media influencers
Basic photography skills a plus
Able to commit to ~3 days/week for a minimum of 3 months (hours flexible for the right candidate)
