Description:

The Knoll Brand Marketing team is looking for a creative and highly organized Manager, Brand Communications, who will develop, lead and drive an integrated brand communications (PR and social media) strategy and calendar across brand campaigns, product launches, and global design events. The position is responsible for building brand distinction, desire, and devotion through a brand-first, storytelling-led approach that ties together communications efforts across audiences and platforms.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will be able to independently own and drive forward initiatives, navigate ambiguity, assess and manage risks or tradeoffs, and possess a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously. They will demonstrate a strong sense of brand and project ownership, with a bias for action, strong strategic thinking and problem solving — and maintain clear and concise communication across all levels of leadership.

This role will also be responsible for building effective internal working relationships with colleagues across MillerKnoll, particularly within the Knoll brand and product teams, and in close partnership with channels (Contract and Retail) and corporate functions.

Essential Functions:

- Ownership of annual brand communications strategy (the how) and calendar (the what, when, where) for both PR/communications and social media

- Leading the communications-driven expression of an overarching brand narrative that will come to life across brand campaigns, product launches, strategic partnerships, events (both industry and internal) and channels (Contract and Retail)

- Overseeing the development of PR and social media content (written and visual) in partnership with Brand Creative, the MillerKnoll corporate archives team and executional/production partners in the channels (Contract and Retail) and functions

- Developing and executing a brand-building social and earned media influence (gifting, content creation, etc.) strategy in partnership with Brand Creative and Marketing colleagues

- Developing and managing executive communications opportunities and interviewsServes as main brand team point of contact with the PR/communications agency of record and/or consultants

- Building strong cross-functional relationships across the organization to ensure efficiency and seamless collaboration across all channel owners and key stakeholders

- Understanding marketing and creative initiatives in a holistic sense that goes beyond just the communications functionFostering a keen understanding of the Knoll world, our brand, our people and our values and apply these learnings to strategy and project planning and execution

- Creating, updating and maintaining schedules for communications initiatives and launches to ensure we're tracking towards major milestones and clearly communicating and escalating risks in a timely manner

- Being a leader and demonstrating passion for improving ways of working across the brand marketing team; identifying key areas of opportunity for process improvement and supporting leadership with implementation of best practices and performance insights

- Continuously maintaining, updating and sharing brand communications project status, analytics/reporting as shared by channel and function partners and recaps

- Defining and overseeing strategies and best practices for international brand channels and the use of social media platforms to communicate consistently and in adherence with brand guidelines

- Identifying opportunities for and guiding amplification of brand-focused communications through MillerKnoll dealers and associates

- Identify opportunities to engage with the A&D community to keep Knoll top of mind through earned and social media

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Communications, business or related field preferred, but not required

- 8–10 years of PR/communications and/or social media strategy experienceBoth agency and corporate experience preferred, but not required

- Understanding of the role of communications as a strategic part of the overall marketing mix and key tool for brand building

- Strong project management ability and managerial courage to drive accountability throughout a highly matrixed organization

- Demonstrated excellent organizational, strategic, and problem-solving skills

- Collaborative in nature with the ability to create relationships and build trust at all levels of the organization

- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and contributors on large-scale projects/rollouts including agency (internal or external) partners, internal product and technical teams, and creative teams

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to translate complex or large tasks into manageable, actionable briefs and milestones

- Flexible working style; must be able to lead cross-functional teams and projects calmly through change and ambiguity

- Demonstrated high level of integrity and business ethics

- Willingness to perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives
