MCPR is looking to hire a full-time Account Executive to help support its founder, Michael Corrigan. Here at MCPR, you'll have the opportunity to work on an exciting grouping of clients across the lifestyle spectrum: focusing on the verticals of Fashion/Retail (Taylor Stitch, Tie Bar) CPG (The Spice House, Mayawell) and Experiential (BucketListers Presents, The Color Factory).
The successful candidate will have some demonstrated experience in PR (ideally within fashion, lifestyle, entertainment, or e-commerce industries), and prior experience working with both regional and national media. In this role, you’ll be partaking in all aspects of the business, including media relations, writing, event management, programming execution, influencer marketing, celebrity placement, and day-to-day client relations. The ideal candidate has a nose for news, a ‘let’s get it done” attitude, and a creative eye. You will operate swiftly and effectively, and possess a desire to learn more about the broader PR landscape. We would love someone to collaborate with in person, therefore our preference is that you reside in Chicago, however candidates outside of the Chicago area will also be considered. Client travel will be required.
Duties:
Assist MCPR with client media pitching (client news, launches, partnerships, seasonal trends, gift guides, etc.)
Provide event support (creation, planning, budgets, execution)
Manage client sample trackers and keep team on budget
Mange client’s PR/media coverage tracker
Oversee client product pull fulfillment (media/influencer/celebrity stylist/stores)
Oversee client research needs (competitive analysis, media monitoring, media/influencer databases)
BA in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field
2 years of experience in PR or Marketing
Creative eye and understanding of how to build a brand’s aesthetic, buzz, and voice – ability to take photos for social media, write, and voice their opinion Working knowledge and passion for media (traditional, digital, influencer are ideal!)
Understanding of social media - including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, Tik Tok
Willingness to network and entertain in addition to regular office hours
Great time-management and multitasking skills
