DESCRIPTION:

The PR Net, the premier network for marketing communications professionals, seeks a director of programming and special projects, to drive our expanding offering. The role is ideal for someone with a PR background who would like to shift roles but stay in the field. The candidate may also come from an events background but must have a good understanding of the PR and media landscape.

Responsibilities:

- Direct our marquee events throughout the year, including our one-day conference, media & PR networking events, ‘The PR Net 100’ and other industry awards programs

- Work with the company founder and programming manager to determine the direction of regular member programming and aid in implementing this

- Work on expansion and cultivation of new chapters for in-person programming

- Contribute to other special projects that further develop the brand and community

- Pitch sponsorship – both in-kind and financial

- Procure contributors (talent, brands, media) for events

- Create overview decks for each program

- Audience development for special events

- Manage budgets for each initiative

- Work with our developer to implement technical needs for each ticketed event or special project

REQUIREMENTS:

- 7+ years in a PR or events role

- Exceptional organizational and communication skills

- Articulate negotiator and resourceful problem solver

- Strong knowledge of core event production elements, terms and processes

- Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment

- Proficiency with Canva, G Suite Apps, MS Office

- Experience managing budgets

- Media relationships a big plus

- Experience running events logistics such as procuring and managing vendors, creating invite lists, liaising with stakeholders

- Appetite to work with a fast-paced startup environment

- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience

$85-110K salary depending on experience

This role is ideally for someone New York based; however, it is remote and with a very flexible schedule. Some in-person meetings will be required, and it is an option to be in office up to 3 days a week, if preferred.
